Awe, you girls are the greatest. The other people on this board are most likely pre-nursing working towards applying or waiting for their letter, so your info is very important to us. I for one am keeping a journal of all important info that you girls have stated on here since I will probably need it one day. Thanks again.

Hello Guys!
I have to tell you how grateful I am to have such a network of nursing students! All of your questions have been at one time my questions that I have asked my counselors, peers and the medical staff at various hospitals

This is my first post, I registered today & could not wait to meet you guys!

I'm currently a student at City College, I will apply to Grossmont, City & Southwestern at the end of the Summer (RN-programs). And once I finish Organic Chem & Bio Chem I will be able to apply to Cal State San Marcos and SDSU.

I can't remember off hand if NU requires O-Chem/BioChem...but I'm sure I will be applying with them as well.

Ahh....I'm so frustrated at SDSU b/c for the longest time they were giving more points if you were bilingual...and as of last year or so they are no longer giving points for being bilingual. So because of that I became afraid that I wasn't going to look good on paper...so I decided to become a CNA. Once I became certified, that was that. I didn't work as a CNA, I didn't do anything w/my certification...so hopefully SDSU will give me some credit...lol.

Also, you're only given 10pts for 100-999 hrs of volunteer work, and 15 pts of 1,000 hrs...who has time to volunteer 1,000+ hours plus school/lab AND regular work....and I'm assuming people have families too (to say the least). Whew-glad I can relate to you guys

Welcome SanDiegoRN2be, this is a wonderful board with a wealth of information. One suggestion, go back and read the board from the beginning, it will answer so many questions that you may have. I'm a volunteer, but don't plan to volunteer 1000+ hours. That's a bit too much . Good luck on your studies.

Good Morning Everyone,
I just took my TEAS/Essay yesterday and I scored the following? I don't know if I did good. I was supposed to take it on June 6 but they cancelled that class and I only had 1 day to study since I thought I would have more time to study after my last final.

Adjusted Individual Total Score: 80.6%
Mean - National 74.4%
Mean - Program 78.7%
Percentile Rank - National: 70
Percentile Rank - Program: 55

How is this computed in getting into the program? They are only waiting on one more transcript but my GPA is borderline by 0.056 so I don't know if they will let my application through or have to take one more class to bring up GPA. Can anyone tell me what to expect as far as the application process? I applied for the January 2010 cohort but I don't think on top of GPA and over 86 people applying for 50-60 spots? Feedback anyone???
