Hi guys, I need some serious help before my Microbiology final is due. Does anyone recommend some good Micro sites that may be able to help me identify certain bacterial cultures? Something similar to a Bergey's manual? Thanks in advance!

This is one of the better sites I came across when I took Micro, I hope the link works and is helpful. If you have any micro related questions don't hesitate to ask...been there, done it, got the T-shirt :D

I'm just at a desperation point right now because I have to turn in my Final Microbiology Lab project and it consists of starting off with an unknown culture and performing a series of tests until you can determine what it is. I have it narrowed down to those 2 but I'm not sure which one it is.

This is what I need to know if Klebsiella Pneumoniae and Enterobacter gergoviae are sensitive to S10 (Streptomycin). If they are both sensitive to it then I need to know if they are sensitive or resistant to C30 (Chloramphenicol), E15 (Erythromycin) and P10 (Penicillin)..........

Am I correct in assuming that you need to do a 'Kirby- Bauer Test' to find out which penicillum a patient would be given to cure infection with those two type of bacteria.....are you doing the test on a petri dish? We did something similar but it wasn't part of determining our unknowns.
