I found it much easier because I learn better by teaching myself in math. We used a program called MyMathLab that broke the problems down into steps and made it super easy. It was also nice NOT to have to sit through a math class. (I tend to fall asleep!) We did have in class reviews and tests, though, and my teacher was really helpful and would post videos of herself doing example problems. Check out RateMyProfessors.com to see if the one who does the online section at your school is any good.

i havent taken math online...but it all depends on what kind of learner you are.

Im getting and A in math write now...and I know I wouldn't be able to get that grade if I was teaching myself. I need someone to teach it to me with interaction.

I hope this helps...but remember just because I wont be able to doesnt mean you cant

Good Luck

I have taken a math class online and really enjoyed it. It was a medical math class that is a pre-req for the nursing program that I will be starting in the fall. It was fairly easy- mostly converting dosages. The most difficult part for me was calculating the drip rates for IV's. But I guess that it will just take some practice to really get it. What kind of math were you contemplating taking online?

I'm taking intermediate algebra. We also use My Math Lab. I will probably do good since my math teacher this semester didn't provide the best examples so half the time I tought my self. Thanks a lot for your help.

I have taken all 3 types of math, Face-to-face, Online and a Self-Paced Computerized Math Course that was offered in the computer lab at my school, that had a teacher in the class with you, but you taught yourself and she just helped with problems. By far my favorite was the computerized class. The online guide was very interactive with videos and lessons. But if you aren't good in math i would stick with the traditional classes!

Good Luck!

I took Intermediate Algebra & College Algebra online. I had the My Math Lab as well. I have never been good at math...ever and I didn't want to take it online, but I have two small kids and had no choice. But I made a B in Intermediate and an A in Algebra. It was hard, you have to be able to set aside a lot of time, but you can do it if you set your mind to it! If you need help, get a tutor. Be sure to ask your instructor questions if you get confused & hopefully your teacher will give you a study guide, if so use it. I enjoyed teaching myself, I saw the steps, wrote it in my own words, or memorized the formulas in a way that was easy for me. Like I said if you put your mind to it & work hard the whole time, you can do it. Best of luck!

I wish I could take it online this summer, but so far it doesn't look like they are offering it online.....and I think it stinks to have to drive 1/2 hr each way for a 1 hour class 4 days per week, but I want to get it done and over with so I can concentrate on A&p in Sept.
