Students Pre-Nursing

Hi!

I am looking for anyone who is attending/has graduated from LCCC's nursing program. Can you please share your acceptance details (when you got your letter, g.p.a., pax scores)? The school is so vague with their admissions details and rumors are constantly flying.

At the other end of the spectrum, if you have been denied admission to the program when did you get your letter, did they give a reason for denial?

Thank you to anyone who can help :) :)

I swear finding people that have attended LCCC on Allnurses is next to impossible, lol. Following of course.

I know! I cannot even understand it. There are tons of threads for other community colleges that have hundreds of comments!

I don't know if this helps... but I applied this past fall with all pre-reqs complete, 100+ on PAX, and I am still waiting to hear on whether I was accepted or denied. But I also know of someone who 'said' they received an acceptance letter 2 weeks ago. I called the admissions office yesterday to see when I would be hearing and they said end of Feb./beginning of March. So, who knows...let me know if you hear anything.

Well even though I am sure I'll be getting a denial letter, they just updated my address info and have my pax exam scores on the site now. I have a strong feeling they are getting ready to send out letters in the next couple days!

I haven't heard of anyone yet who has received an acceptance or denial letter. A rumor (because its all rumors all the time at LCCC) is that they letters are going out within the week. I met someone today who got denied from the program last year but did not even find out until April.

Now that it is imminent everyone is talking about it in classes. So much anxiety over this.

If you don't mind my asking, have you applied before and were denied or is this your first time applying? I only ask because another rumor I had heard was that you have to have all pre-reqs done.

Sorry, I keep commenting.

I was also told today that they are taking the pax scores into consideration, that it is not just a pass/fail thing (like it was before I guess?) Anyone know anything about that?

This is my first time applying at LCCC. From the conversation I had with the admissions office, they do accept those without all pre-reqs complete. BUT, they're admissions process is based on a point system. So the higher your GPA and the more pre-requisite work you have done, the higher your score will be. With it being so competitive at this point, chances of getting in with more than 2 pre-requisites left to complete are slim. They seemed to highly suggest trying to have all prerequisites complete. In Decemeber when I spoke with the admissions office, they told me for this round of applications that the PAX scores would be based on pass-fail (below 100 being a fail). They suggested that PAX scores would be taken into account in the near future, but not for this round.

That sucks. I doubt they would take into account classes registered then. At the moment I am taking 4 of the prerequisites, I would only have 2 left by the time I finished the semester. I was hoping my GPA and high PAX score would make up for that.

I hate all these rumors and stories!!! I wish their process was more transparent, I wish they would tell us the rate of acceptance.

I mean if they prefer people have all of most of the prerequisites done , just make it a damn requirement already and put people out of their misery. I also wish I knew if they took currently registered classes into account.

Ugh I know. I have been saying this since the summer. I don't know why everything has to be such a mystery.
