Smile Re: Low GPA?
Don't be overly focused on your GPA. I know the school I go to takes many things into consideration. Community service, particularly if nursing related and experience in any related work are important. Also most schools require an essay of some sort. I know many faculty that are upset by the low level of writing many nursing students exhibit in classes so I bet a VERY WELL WRITTEN essay would help a lot also. My school did interviews also so presentation and enthusiasm were also important.
Optimism and hope will help you find a school that matches you well. A big consideration is who you are, what you have to offer and why you want to be a nurse .
Best of luck to all and realize once the whole thing is done GPAs don't matter much .

I plan to study hard and apply to a myriad of schools but, I was just wondering if there was anybody else in the same boat as myself?
In SoCal 2.8 is all you need to get into any ADN program... its almost all lottery system so no one cares what your GPA is as long as you meet the minimum requirement. Dunno where you live but let me know if you had any questions on the programs out here.

I know Im a little late with this post but Oklahoma City University accepts EVERYONE who has completed the pre reqs. There is no catch to this or anything, apparently they are in a contract with the government (or something like that) to decrease the nursing shortage. If youre willing to go anywhere then its worth looking up. They have ADN, BSN, accelerated BSN and MSN programs that anyone can get into. They only limit enrollment in the doctoral programs. The programs are pricier than at CC's but if youre feeling discouraged this is a perfect route for you. Im thinking about it myself but the fact that its in Oklahoma is kind of whats turning me away. Just doesnt sem like a place I could see myself living
