Laptop for LPN school necessary/helpful?

I'm heading for LPN school soon. Just how helpful would it be to have a laptop? Can I even take it to class with me to take notes? Any current LPN student input and/or recent LPN grad input would be greatly appreciated. (And if you think of anything else I might want to consider that really helped you...thanks!)
