Is my GPA to low for Darton College Nursing Program

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello...I want to get into darton college nursing program in Albany, ga. My GPA is at a 2.7 right now. I still have Microbiology (I have to retake that), American government, U.S. History, and pharmacology to take. I just reapplied to the nursing program. All applications are due by September 15, 2010. The first time I took the HESI exam I made a 66% on it without studying. Does your Hesi score have to be really high to get in Darton college? What is the average score? I am retaking it on October 5th. Do anyone know the lowest hesi and GPA score darton has taken? I really want to get in this time around. And does anyone know what I can study for the HESi exam? Thanks!

Hi I really don't know all they answers to your questions, but i'm studing from the Hesi book that they recommended and I'm also studying from a A&P for dummies book to refresh me on that. I've read from other posters that sometimes Darton can be somewhat flexible becasue they let 100 students in so it's not overly competitive. I"m applying to their hybrid program i've completed ,all of my pre-reqs except three, my gpa is 3.41, but I think my downfall is going to be that hesi exam i've procrastinated turning the application in because of that. Good luck to you and I hope that we get in and succeed.

o ok. Thanks. I still have time to bring my gpa up a little. Right now I am enrolled in eng 2, human growth, and P.E, but I hope I get in this time around. I can finish the rest of my core before january

Why don't you ask the nursing department of that school. I've had schools tell me the average GPA of applicants they accepted in the previous years.

I haved asked.. The woman just said, "Just apply with us".

That stinks that they won't give you an idea. Perhaps talk to the students who are in the program now and what their GPA and score was. Or you can talk to admissions and see if they would know too. Good luck.

Well, that was nice of them, wasn't it!

Maybe you could try posting this thread in the region section, under the state where the college is? Maybe you'll get more informative replies there.

I'm actually applying to the Spring Semester Hybrid program at Darton as well. My GPA is currently a 3.44 and I'm taking my computer course and medical terminology course this semester. I haven't heard anything with respect to my HESI test, but I heard that about a 2.9 was the lowest for the Hybrid program. I'm really nervous because I haven't heard anything yet. :uhoh3: If you're taking a good amount of courses that are 3 hours or better, then you shouldn't have a problem raising your gpa and getting into their program. They accept people into their programs every semester so everything will happen in due time. :saint: I wish you the best of luck though and sooner than later you'll be an RN! :nurse:

I'm applying to the Hybrid Program for Spring as well. I haven't heard anything back and I sent my application about 3 weeks ago. Have you been scheduled for your HESI test yet and how would I find out if I've been scheduled? :uhoh3:

Hello! They send u a card in the mail with ur testing date on it. Do u have all ur core classes?

Can I jump in on this conversation??

I'm applying to Darton college with a 3.04 GPA, what are my chances of getting in? Also I will be taking core classes in January once or if accepted and will apply for Nursing for May in Thomasville. What are my chance of getting in? I guess since application for May nursing is November to February, my core that I'll take at Darton wont count?

I sent in my application last Thursday and they should be getting my transcripts tomorrow, will I find out soon? I'm going to be a transfer student.

Hello Guys!!! i applied to Darton for spring and summer and got in both times but i live in atlanta and work full time so i couldn't go.... I've reapplied for the hybrid and hopefully i get in...

My Hesi score was 78 and trust me the same things in the HSEI book is on the test especially the vocabulary section the math is really easy you should target that to boost your score...My GPA at the time was 3.0 and i got in so hopefully we'll all be classmates next spring !!!!
