I am starting an accelerated program in about 7 days and have myself paralyzed in fear about money and have heard so many stories about the level of intensity. Can anyone who has been in an ABSN program give advice or say anything to allay my fears? Is it that rigorous? I have about 2 days to make up my mind to start a traditional program in six months but I already gave up my job to leave town. That part is ok as I could/should get a health related job anyway to make it easier to get a job after school.
I know this is such an idividual decision but wondering if its really that stressful as I know my limits and course work comes relatively easy for me but I do need 7-8 hours of sleep or I cant function optimally. My first degree is in biology so Im pretty good at the sciences.
    Thanks in advance.

I bought my books, uniform, etc....but mostly I am just enjoying time with the kids and working as much as possible to save money before I cut my hours.

Good luck guys but at the same time start preparing. The nursing program is very different from the pre reqs. You will have to get used to NCLEX type questions which are tricky because from 4 alternatives 2 will always look good so it is difficult to choose.

If I were you I would buy a NCLEX review book or borrow one, Saunders is a good choice and read the test taking strategies at the beginning and familiarizing myself with NCLEX questions. In your exams test taking skills are going to be a VERY important part of your grade.

    Good Luck.

    OH YES!!
That is what I did, also, went from scoring that full time job to having to go back down to part time hours, but it will all be worth it in December 2011!!

lol Congrats on getting your supplies and starting soon!!!
