In what order should I take these classes?

Based on my experience, I would go:

For the three core sciences: A/P 1, A/P 2, Micro

Toss in Algebra as early as possible.

Chem: I'd either double that up with A/P 1 or if you prefer not to double up, take it before Micro.

For Health Career Core, toss it in anywhere if it's easy.

One thing to consider are the pre-reqs for the courses. Chemistry is typically a pre-requisite for Micro and possible A/P. I know at Citrus College, the first semester of Chemistry is required before taking Physio and Micro; most Citrus students go Anat, Chem, Physio, Micro.

I'd double up first semester with algebra and A/P 1. Algebra will be really helpful for chemistry. Second semester, take A/P 2 with the chemistry, then take micro with the health core class. In my experience micro was really hard, but our teacher was famous for being difficult. Good luck! :)

This sounds like a good idea -more logical then the order I had.

I was thinking Algebra, Health core, A.P1, then A/P 2, Chem, micro but I doubt that would help since I'd be trying to cut out one semester but grades would probably suffer.

I would start with algebra and chem because they have info that you will see again in the other classes. Then AP1. After that it does not matter much. Only double up if you think you can handle it, seeing as how you are working. You don't want to overdo it. Good luck.

Thanks. Yeah, math is not my thing (use to be) so I would be more comfortable taking math as a prereq to chemistry rather then a coreq. Scared of both ...especially chemistry...

You have reason to be scared. Just prepare yourself for a tough time. Line up a tutor if you have to. Start early on your own. Take these courses by themselves so you can devote yourself to them. You will need the algebra skills for chem, so get through that one first.

I took AP 1 and Micro at the same time and found it very beneficial when it came to AP2 and chem. Alg is just a pain and fit it in when you can.

I am in a basic chemistry class now, and it's the last pre-req I have to take. I was terrified of it, but since I have a good professor, it turned out to be one of my favorite classes. Our class is mostly basic algebra calculations. I would be totally and completely lost if I had not taken MAT1033 first.

Yeah, I'm prepared to be stressed and tired for a couple of years. I've waited long enough.

I'm taking 3 classes and a lab now working full time BUT they are relatively easy classes (to me).

It's a math prep class which is brushing up old skills and if I apply myself I'm sure I can get back to being comfortable with it. Then an English class which is easy to me since I like writing. Don't mind essays at all.

The last one is Spanish but I speak Romanian and grammar and sound is the same so it should be easy for me.

I'll be left with hard classes but at least I'm getting these out of the way and feel like I'm closer. I had sociology already and passed with an A so hope I can keep that going.

A/P and algebra

A/P 2 and chemistry

Micro and Health core

Sounds like a logical order that will still allow me to do good too. Grades are more important then how long it takes me.

What is the policy at your school regarding these classes? At mine, chemistry is a prereq to A&P I if you've been out of HS for 10+ years or didn't pass HS Chem with a C or better; A&P I is obviously a prereq to II, which is a prereq for Microbiology.

If you're familiar with algebra or even pre-algebra concepts, I would take it along with Chemistry. If not, take it with the easy health course first, then move on to the sciences, one at a time.

I think you have an excellent plan! I did the same thing, had the math prep classes, took it slow, kept a 4.0 and I just got accepted into nursing school for this fall. I had so much fun in my classes, used the professor rating website to help me pick my teachers, and so far I have loved every minute of it! I hope your journey is as great as mine has been! Good luck!
