im lost

I am currently 8 months pregnant and i work in the pharmacy at cvs as a pharmacy tech. They trained me and paid for everything but I want to be a nurse.I currently attend a community college taking pre nursing classes.I was wondering if I should take CNA classes since its in the nursing feild verses staying in the pharmacy.I really dont know which way to go at this point.Does anyone have any advice to give?

I was a CNA and I'm starting the nursing program this fall. I would definitely go for RN. Better pay, more respect, more responsibility, better job (being a CNA, you do all the dirty work). Good luck with whatever you decide!

If you're still going to get your RN...It's a great idea to do a CNA course, and being a CNA is not just dirty work..it's very rewarding and you will get a glimpse of what RNs do also. I am half way through the nursing program. It takes a lot of dedication to become a RN so make sure it is what you really want. Once you're an RN you will have a huge variety of job specialties to choose from!

I don't think you should go for med assistant. From what I heard, it is not that 'fun' and you don't even get paid much. I think you will enjoy being an RN. Just look more into RN and CNA job descriptions to help you choose. I suggest you go see an adviser at your closest college so they can help you make a choice.

I really had no choice to get my CNA - for my Nursing Program, it's required. So double-check to look into the requirements for your school about whether or not a CNA certification is required. ;3

I thought the CNA route was very valuable. Definitely one of the best things I've done in my life. You'll meet some great people, too. I'm now shooting for my RN!
