I'm going crazy...sorry

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Okay, I know I'm asking a lot of questions lol but I have to know if I even have a chance :(

Has anyone here recently applied to the El Camino College nursing program?

If so, what was your GPA/scores?

Any tips on how I could get it?

I still have some time until I apply and I figured a headstart wouldn't hurt.

Please, any advice is appreciated! I think I'm going crazy! Did any of you feel as many butterflies when you decided to apply to a nursing program. :o

Hi! I did feel butterflies, here in WA there are so many applicants that I had to apply to several schools. I am glad I did. I didn't get into my first choice (an entry level MSN) or my second choice (ADN) lottery, so I am glad I was on a waiting list for an LPN program that I start this fall. In the end I think it was the best choice for me anyway :p. Good luck I hope that you get in!

lol. I've thought about joining Job Corps for their LVN program out here in CA. I haven't heard/read too many great things about the people/staff, but the school's LVN passing rate, I'd say, is pretty decent. I have yet to make life-altering decisions and these butterflies keep making me nervous!

Thank you and good luck to you too :p

Hi! I live in Nebraska, so I don't know what El Camino College is. I applied to two nursing schools, and I was very nervous!!! Still am. I got accepted into one of them 2 days ago. It's a BSN program. I'm still waiting on the ADN program letter of acceptance or denial, though. That will be another month-long wait. :( Yes, butterflies galore. Good luck to you!

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling nervous!:uhoh3:

Good luck to you as well! I hope you get in to the other school, so that way you have more options!

I know how you feel. I have been working on a degree in a different field and have just decided to switch gears and got for a nursing degree. I found out last week that all of my general education requirements will transfer over to the nursing program and all I have to take are A&P I and II (which I found a class that offers them together in one class online with lab) and Microbiology (which I start in October and take through December). So since I have a 3.7 GPA and only two classes left to do before the nursing program I will be applying this month. My advisor said that my file is highly competitive. So if all goes right I will start the nursing program (with all gen eds and pre reqs done) Fall 2012 (I missed this deadline) and will have my BSN in 2014.

Today was my first day of A&P online and there is SO much to learn!! Holy cow! I am so nervous!

I still have a long way to go. I'll barely be starting my science classes this upcoming Fall (which starts next week!), and I feel really overwhelmed, but I know that this is what I want to do.

I may finish some time in 2015 or later :/

Yay! You're so lucky, you get to start pretty soon, I know this semester will go by fast for you so I wish you good grades and a great future!

:nurse:

A lot of the colleges require you to take bio and chem in order to take A&P but the college that I found online does not require that. So I was able to skip two of the classes right off the bat. I contacted my school and found out if the course would transfer (it will because it is from a community college) and now I am on my way. I am sure that it is going to be harder for me since I will not have the bio and chem behind me but I am set on making this work!! I have been at this for what seems like forever. Nursing has always been in the back of my mind and I kept putting it on hold. I never realized that I set myself up for the nursing program without even thinking about it.

When I called my school this past week and found out that I had taken all the courses needed (other than the two) I about fell off my chair.

Good luck! :)
