Hey there EricaDumas09 ! Don't feel bad about not passing! It just takes time to study and really retain the information that's on the test! I just took the teas and passed with an 88. I used a book that I bought from border's. It is called "Nursing School Entrance Exams" by McGraw Hill. It is GREAT because it teaches you all of the basics for the TEAS test for every section. It also comes with plenty of practice tests to use also! I'm serious!! Look into it

I'm using the same book to study for the NET, and it's wonderful! I got mine very cheaply at my college bookstore, but I know I've also seen it at Barnes and Noble, Hastings and Chapters, and I'm sure you could find it used on Amazon! I haven't taken my NET yet, but working with this book makes me feel much more prepared and confident.

Hi Erica, Sorry you did not pass. I know what you mean, I too failed teas. I hope you can take it again. I want to give up too, but, that is no choice for me. I have 2 kids, I don't know what to tell them. My school only allow 2 attempts in a year. The english, reading and science was difficult. English is my second language. I studied hard too, the time go fast, I did not finish. My scores, too low im embrass to say. I hope you try again, I wish you good luck in your next test.

Hi Erica,
I just wanted to add my two cents worth, because I read that you bought the ATI book and I truly did not feel that that book was the best one for studying for the TEAS. At my LVN school, they also use the very same TEAS test as for getting into RN school. Two months before I took the test, I went to Borders and bought the book by the NLN called Review Guide for LPN LVN Pre-entrance Exam. I cannot recommend this book highly enough, especially the math review. I found the ATI book to be "choppy" and hard to follow, but the NLN book was smooth and made the math concepts easy to grasp for me. I would also recommend purchasing a GED science textbook, preferrably one that has a workbook, something that I did not do but after the test I saw it recommended here on allnurses and wish I had thought of it. A good GED textbook covers all the areas of science that are on the test, and the TEAS science is quite basic. There is also a TEAS prep class held at many community colleges. Lastly, I would purchase the online practice exam from ATI, and take it after you have completed the majority of all your prep study. It gave a good indication of how well I was going to do on the test, in fact the scores were two points apart for me. And make some time several hours a week to have some low-key, low pressure, study time. Make it a priority and give yourself a couple of months to prepare. You are obviously an intelligent person and you can do this test and do it well, if you have the right study tools. Good luck, Future Nurse!
