I broke down...

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I emailed the Nursing Program Office to find out when applicants (read: me) can expect to find out about fall admission. I'd call, but almost every time I call the office, I get voice mail...plus they'd almost never return the call. I figured I'd have better luck e-mailing first.

I wasn't too worried about it before--I have a BA from 12 years ago (GPA not great but serviceable enough) and this time around, excellent grades in the pre-reqs. But seeing so many people get their acceptances, some excellent students getting rejected, as well as the fact that the school advisor (not specific to the nursing program) told me that I should be hearing in February but haven't...well, I'm understandably getting nervous :uhoh21:

Also, I REALLY need to start planning childcare for the fall! His current school wants to know if he'll be back and they need an answer and deposit check fairly soon--I also need to know when the clinical hours will be so I can plan his childcare for that too! And being a military spouse, I don't always have the husband to fall back on to go pick up/watch the child.

I didn't tell them that though, as I didn't want it to seem like I was using my son to press them for a decision. I just asked when applicants could expect to hear about whether we got into the nursing program.

The waiting is killing me!

I think you actually need to go to the school and set an appointment with someone and find out what happened. When schools send out acceptance letters, everyone gets them at the same time, and if you make the wait or alternate list, you get a letter that shows that as well.

That would be my advice.

Me thinks you may be right. But I will give them a few days to answer my mail first before I storm the castle :)

Update: they actually wrote me back right away! They're currently choosing applicaants and word should be out in a couple of weeks.
