how many of you get others to open "THE ENVELOPE"?

Hey there...Letters of acceptance or denial are mailed today, probably recieve them on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm a basket case as I have put all my eggs in one basket..NOT good, I know. Anyway, I'm just curious when you guys get a letter of this kind of importance do you open it or do you prefer someone close to you to open it and break the news to you? I can't even imagine reading the words "we're sorry to inform you" without getting sick. Somehow it seems like it would be easier to hear from a kind, compassionate friend or husband. I know either way you're going to hear the news and maybe it's just me but I can't open this letter. Tell me what you guys do.

I couldn't open mine up either. I knew I got in just did not know for when or for how long I would be on the list. I go to a CC where they take everyone as long as your prereq grades are where they need to be...just for some reason some of us have to wait longer than others. Its funny how one experience can be so happy, scary and sad at the same time...good luck to everyone!!

:Melody: This so wonderful. I just seem to cry about everything. :Melody:

:) :) I am so so happy for each of you. :) :)

:) I wish you the best in your nursing career. :)

Fun2Care, why did you know it would be a denial letter? You never know.

i applied, and then in the mail i got some letter from the nursing department, like a packet and i was like, whats this about? i wasn't even thinknig it was "The letter." So i open it up and WALA! Nice packet of papers to fill out and all sorts of information.

I have a guess that if you get a thick pack it's a definitive yes, because I doubt they'd send you a pack with a bunch of expensive printed paper in it if you were a "no".

But I've been hearing that MANY "yeses" come in thin envelopes. I bet they send thin ones in case some folks say "no thanks" - then they've only wasted 39 cents in postage plus some letterhead and an envelope.

I'll do what I did with last semester's grade report - rip open the end of the envelope and then look down the paper to see if I can catch the gist of the letter (I squinted down the paper until I saw "16" under "QP Awarded" - which I knew meant an "A")...if my husband is home I'll make HIM open it - but make him promise no funny stuff, no making me wait until after dinner or something equally torturous. :imbar

I might just rip the thing open, like pulling off a band-aid, but I doubt it. I'm bad about opening stuff like that.
