How Long Did It Take For You To Get Accepted? TCC?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi, so I'm just finishing up my pre-reqs and was banking on waiting approximately 1 year to get accepted into the nursing program I really wanted to get into. I was told not to put all of my eggs in one basket but I really want to go to this particular school: Tacoma Community College. Someone told me today that they waited OVER a year and gave up waiting...so it made me wonder, how many of you out there that have been accepted to Tacoma Community College or any other college, how long did you actually have to wait after you filled out your first application to get in the nursing program. Second question, should I settle and apply to different colleges? Thanks so much for any input.

TCC stands for my school as well which is in VA. After submitting my app it took 2 months.

I'm in western co, but I applied last fall and did not get in. Tried again this spring and got a spot for fall! It all depends on how competitive the program is, what your ap looks like compared to those applying etc. Good luck!

I'm in Cali and I applied to a BSN program in Jan and received my acceptance letter last month thank goodness. I also applied to an ASN in March and received a rejection letter last month too so it all depends. So it only took me a few months and I got in my 1st try. But I know people at universities and ccs who have waited for yrs or are still waiting. Maybe while you are waiting for the cc maybe you could try and take classes for your BSN. In Cali it seems easier to get into the BSN because they go off grades and give points whereas the community colleges are lottery based.Apply to as many schools that you qualify for and are willing to attend.

I turned in the application on the deadline and got my acceptance a little less than a month later.

Can't really answer the second question for ya...totally depends on your reasons for wanting that school and their importance in comparison to how soon you start a program. I put all my eggs in one basket because the program I was accepted to is ~10 minutes from home, is completely covered by my scholarship, and has a good reputation. At this point in my life, I wasn't willing to compromise on any of those things except MAYBE the distance. Being close to home makes getting the kiddos off to three different schools much, much easier.

Im in Southern alabama, and I have applied to nothing but community colleges within this past year( except one university). This will be my third semester in a row to apply for nursing school. Total I have had 6 rejection letters. :( But im nnot giving up hope! Im still waiting to hear back from two CC before the fall semester. Good Luck!
