How hard is it to be a Microbiologist?

  1. Well, to start off, my major isn't nursing but microbiology. I've been struggling with the thought of; what if im not good enough? what if there's a lot of memorisation and i've always been bad at memorising things? what if biochemistry/basic chemistry is just too much for me? do i need maths/high levels at it in my job? what are the expectations & requirements of being a microbiologist?

all of these questions are convincing me to drop & switch the major. (yet i rly dont know what to switch to)

please help. the idea of being a microbiologist & being responsible is so scary and is destroying my confidence & love for biology.

    What's your IQ?
Do you have good study habits?
Do your aptitudes lie in the hard sciences?

Rhetorical questions posed just to point out how many variables go into the "how hard is it" question, and how impossible it is for Internet strangers to answer.

Not to mention that we aren't actually microbiologists so there's that.

I'm not a microbiologist and I don't play one on television (or the internet).

Anything is hard if you're not good at it, and anything can be fairly easy if you excel at it. Take some micro classes and see how that goes.
