Giving up isn't an option

In need of any advice that will be helpful. I have completed all of my core classes but my GPA isn't high enough for nursing programs. Some require Chemistry and I have Biologys. My GPA can get higher if I took Chemistry it will just put me a whole yr behind. I don't want to change my major taking the easy way out besides nursing is where my heart really is. Am I thinking to hard about finishing and should just be patient. HELP...

I guess it really depends on whether or not the program your looking into will accept your current GPA. Have you talked to an advisor yet? They would be able to tell you which classes you need to take or need to take over to improve your GPA. If you have to take a Chemistry class, just look at it as knocking out a class you were going to have to take anyway. If you have to take a Science class over, I promise you your not the first and won't be the last. Just stay motivated and focused..... you can do it.

Are you sure your GPA isn't high enough? Mine was only like 3.17 compared to other people who had straight A's but I still got in on my first try. Also, you will likely end up needing Chemistry if you pursue your bachelor's later on anyway, so why not go ahead and take it? It could raise your GPA, as you said.

Do the schools you're most interested in require chemistry? And do you actually have a GPA below their limit or do you just think it's not a good GPA? You could look into quick term chemistry classes. Some schools offer it (assuming you're allowed to take it online; that's school-specific) as a self-paced class, so you could speed through it if time is of the essence. Chemistry is probably better in person, but this is still an option.

Well if your GPA isn't high enough....

Seriously, you need us to answer this?

If your GPA isn't high enough to get in you aren't a yea behind by taking Chemistry...it will put you where you need to be.

If you want to be a nurse take the class. If you don't want to be a nurse change majors. If one class is enough for you to consider another major maybe that's what you should do...one class is nothing.
