Getting into Nursing school!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey everyone I would like advice from anyone who has gotten in to Nursing school(BSN PROGRAM). I am applying this fall in California. USF, SFSU, CSUEB, SJSU, SAC STATE, SONOMA STATE. I have a cumulative college GPA of 3.9, and a Nursing pre req GPA of a 4.0. I havent taken Microbiology yet and I am currently in Physiology and have an A so far. I am a medical assistant(CMA) for a Cardiology office and have been there for a year. I havent taken the teas yet and I am also nervous about that! What else can I do to improve my chances?

Ace the TEAS and your chances look great!

I think you don't need to improve your chances anymore you look like you goin get into where ever you going to apply to

Wow your chances are already looking petty great, your gpas is high and you have experience thats a plus! But do take microbiology if you have a chance! I hope you have applied already cause deadline for fall 2012 application for some of the school you listed was Jan 15!

On a 4.0 scale...3.9 isn't bad ya know...lol. You look like you are on your way.

I think you got it, all you need now is TEAS, Micro, and prayers!!...

Hi Achase4848,

I will answer your question here. I have a 4.0 in the prerequisite courses, a 4.0 in transferable units and 3.9 overall(nontransferable units included). I studied for the TEAS for a couple days and got an 85, I was disappointed in my self because I at least wanted over a 90, but I should have dedicated more time to studying...That's the chronic procrastinator in me :) I have 2 years of experience as a caregiver but no foreign/sign language. You should buy the TEAS study guide and use that to study. You will have no problem getting into the schools you are applying for. I only applied for CSUEB because the location is convenient. If you pass micro with flying colors and do well on the TEAS you can and relax and wait for your acceptance email and letter. Happy studying and Good luck!
