Exceeding word limit on personal statement

  1. 0
I'm using the NursingCAS website for some applications and when I got to the personal statement part, I found out that there is ~700 word limit (5000 characters). My personal statement is about 1369 words (7781 characters). Does anyone know how strict they are about staying within the word limit count? Or is it okay to be over about 100-200 words?

I would think you would be penalized , for going over.
It has a number, if it didn't matter the would put a number on it.

I know it's hard, but try to cut it down.

    Good luck

I know that they do not count each word, but go by page number to estimate. Because you are doing it online, they might print out your statement and see. I would try to stick to the limit they have allotted.

If they have given you a word or character limit, it's for a good reason. They have to hold
you to exactly the same standards as every other applicant because if they didn't, it would
not only be unfair, it would be illegal.

I would definitely cut it down to the limit. Why give them an easy reason to say no to you?
