    Hey Lunise-

I got accepted!! My sister called me yesterday and said I got a packet in the mail from drexel (I'm at school right now, not home). So I told her to open in up and I got in. They said I have 40 days to make a decision- so thats around mid december. She said they also did have info about dorm rooms- so I will definitely look into that.

I am going to wait and see if I get into Jeff (since I do like the idea of the MSN program) but if there are still issues with my app- then screw it- I'm going to drexel.

Well hopefully you will receive your notice soon and then we can :roll together!!

:hatparty: CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so freakin excited for you. Well I hope my decision letter gets here by next week. I guess since you're live in PA, you would get your letter faster. Hopefully I get it soon here on Florida...oh my gosh now I'm really nerous.

But anyhoo congratulations again...make sure you celebrate this weekend. :Melody: I'll make sure to let you know what my letter say whether I get accepted or not. Hopefully, it's an acceptance letter. If not, at least I got a back up..ok let's think positive here.. .

    Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! :smiley_aa

Do you guys know the answers to these questions:

Are all your ACE classes at Hahnemann?

How intense do you think the program is?

If you could compare to a normal undergrad semester (i.e., I don't understand quarters...I've always had semesters) ...but would it the equivalent of like, 3 200 level bio's including labs and 3 normal classes for a total of 21 credits? I see the curriculum online, just wondering if that's what it is really like. I mean, would you have any free time at all?

If it's on quarters, that's 21 credits in 3 months right (as opposed to 4 months to 21 credits a semester)?

Hey guys--- I just heard back from drexel's accelerated program as well and I got accepted!!! I did not expect it to happen at all. I have lived in the area for four years now ( student at temple university) so I am pretty familar with it --if you have any questions about the area Lunise??? I also applied at jefferson but I think it is more expensive then drexel's and I like drexel's start date also. I talked to a few girls that have completed the program and they said it was hard as all hell but it was fast paced and once they were done they got like 6 job offers on the spot. I am thinking about definitely living in the dorms as well since I can get that covered with the financial aid and it will be right behind the hospital. One girl that I spoke to said that she rarely left her dorm room bc she was studying so much. I figure I might as well live close by so it is easier for me to study. I think the program will go really fast and it will be an amazing experience. I didn't get into nursing school when I applied as an undergrad so I finished my degree in something else and now here I am going to drexel next year! So excited!!!

    Hi all-

-pinoy- I really can't answer your questions because I also am new to drexel's quarter system. I'm pretty sure the program is very intense though- if you do a search for older drexel ace threads a lot of people say its crazy but doable.

-devon- :hatparty: congrats! I will definitely be asking you questions about the area. I live in PA... but I've only been to philly for random concerts- so I don't really know my way around. (Actually, when I went to the ACE open house, I was walking around for about an hour trying to find out where the heck I parked my car :smackingf )

Do you know the actual numbers for the costs of both drexel and jeff's programs? I havent been able to find them anywhere.

I'll definitely be looking into the dorms- I'm hoping to get a single room- but I'm sure thats what everyone wants...

btw- devon- what was your 1st degree in? (mine is psych) and what kind of nursing are you looking to go into?

lunise- darling where are you??? did you hear anything yet?

Well, you guys answered some of my questions already, thanks!

From what I'm told, a semester in college is 16 weeks and 15 credits is full time. In the ACE program, it's quarters which is 13 weeks and taking 21 credits.

I'm still trying to get a grasp of what nursing classes are like and how intense the program really is. I believe 7 non-nursing classes (i.e. psych, communications, econ, etc...) would be as intense as 3 science classes (bio, chem) + a non science class. At least, they pretty much equal out hours wise (since science classes have labs - and it's really 3 hours you are in class for lab instead of that 1 measly credit (hour) they give you). I'd be in over my head if it was 21 full science credits, but have no problem with 21 non-science credits. Anyone else get what I'm saying?

Charley, here is a webpage for Drexel's ACE program. $26,000. http://www.drexel.edu/em/undergrad/f...uition_hs.html

I haven't found how much Jefferson's program is.

Would you guys know anything about Drexel's ACE program incoming accepted applicant's overall GPA/science GPA/pre-req GPA? I know other things come into play, just wondering kinda ballpark figures.

Charley- I'm still here freakin' out...but seriously I've been checking my mailbox every single day. I'm upset that my apartmnent complex do not distribute mail on Saturday(what type of crap is that!?) so that sucks. So I'm just being patient.
Thanks Devon for offering to answer questions about the area. Hopefully I'll be utilizing your service.

    Keeping my fingers cross.

Hi! 1st quarter ACE student. Almost made it through 1st quarter. It's not easy, but hopefully well worth it. You don't have much time for anything (this is suppossed to be the easy quarter too). They also recommend not working. I don't see how you could. But I seem to take it one day at a time. I actually should be studying right now.

FYI we have a full week off for Thanksgiving (next week CAN'T WAIT) and 3 weeks off for Christmas, and an additional week off in between the other quarters. So if you think about it, it is only 9 1/2 months, not 11.

Well any way congrats on getting in! Good luck to those who are still waiting to here!

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

hey drex- oh i will definitely be asking you a million questions! heres the first batch

    1) What is your daily schedule like? Are you in classes/clinicals for 8 hrs a day?

    2) Other than tuition and room/board, what other costs are involved?

    3) Are the professors friendly or out to get you?

    4) What kind of assignments do you have? (I've never taken a nursing class so I have no idea what they are like)

5)Are you in the dorms? If so, what are they like?

    6) So far which class is the hardest? easiest?

Thanks in advance... and there will be many more to come!!

-lunise- im still praying for ya hun!

Interested in these as well. What a typical day is like and, if you had to, how would you describe a nursing semester from undergrad (the equivalent of 3 science classes + 3 hour labs + 2 non-science classes)? A lot of people say no to take 2 or 3 science classes, but in the quarter, is it like you're taking 2/3/4...at a time?

Hi all - I've also been accepted at Drexel for fall '06 (and congratulations to the others who have as well!) I'm still waiting for word from the other two schools I applied to (Villanova and NYU), but I'm really thinking I'll probably go with Drexel at this point - the 11 month time frame will be challenging, but I don't trust it would be all -that- much better even with an extra three months. How exciting! Now, the question is...what do I do with myself next summer?

Does anyone have any firsthand information regarding having to pay tuition "upfront" at drexel -- ACE program?
