Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

So im thinking about Nursing as a major. I am a Biology Major but been thinking alot about Nursing.

Ive noticed i have taken alot of the pre reqs required for a nursing program (Minus Micro).

My overall gpa is 3.2

But my pre req gpa is 3.7 (Minus Micro)

My Overall GPA is low because i goofed alot my first couple of semesters.

What do you guys think? Is my GPA good enough or shoulf i work on my pre reqs and maybe retake some of those classes i goofed off in early my collegiate career?

Thank you in advance! :)

It doesn't matter at all what we think. Look at the schools that you are interested in. Look at their requirements.

That's all that matters.

Your grades may be competitive for some programs, but not for others. My program considered the science prerequisites, only ...so neither one of the GPAs you've provided. I got in with a 3.7 ...but only as an alternate.

A lot of programs have basic information on their websites. Shop around and call them up if you have unanswered questions.

I concur. Some nursing programs would accept an overall 3.2 with a prerequisite GPA of 3.7, whereas a handful of schools in my area have rejected 4.0 applicants.

In other words, it really depends upon the nursing program and the quality of the competition you'll be up against.

Ask nursing programs you're interested in where the average accepted applicant falls in regards to GPA. That will give you an idea where you are with regards to chances of being accepted.
