Do I need to buy digital access code for chemistry book?

I am going to start my chemistry class in this summer soon. My required book is;

[h=1]Chemistry: An Introduction to General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry (11th Edition)[/h]

Thing is school bookstore sells digital access code for this book for my course. I remember that my A&P professor gave us extra credit for quiz from connect code before. But I am not sure this time. Can anyone who used this book and access code tell me about this? Is access code for this book worth to buy?

I think that is really going to depend on your teacher/class. I was required to buy an access code for A&P1, A&P2, and Microbiology. We didn't use it once in A&P1. In A&P2, we had extra credit available in it. For Microbiology, we had weekly homework and quizzes in the access portion. It varies widely.

I would wait until the first day of class to see if the instructor says it is necessary or not. Don't know of any instructor who has made it mandatory for no reason other than to create revenue.

It should come with the book itself. The people who had to buy codes were the ones who bought used, or old editions. All of my books came with the digital codes if we purchased it new. It should be included in the price. Some professors made us do the online work and some didn't.

If the access code provides extra study material, quizzes, etc. it is totally worth it!
