Direct Entry Nursing in Boston

I am looking for a direct entry nursing program in the Boston area. I have seen that Simmons, Northeastern, MGH Institute, and Regis all have this program but I am worried that my average gpa from my BA (my alma mater is one of those schools above) is not high enough to get me into one of these high-demand programs... plus I heard that the MGH Institute has just an 11% acceptance rate...Dare I say it, but are there any less-exclusive programs in the area??? I am not interested in pursing an ASN*

Otherwise, does anyone have advice on what I can do to boost my resume to make me a more appealing candidate? I'm thinking working as a CNA and/or volunteering at a hospital or nursing home. Right now I am working in finance and I don't think that will help me too much.
