Dental Examination to get in?

I've noticed that some programs require both a physical and dental exam to get in.
How important is the dental exam and what would prevent you from being approved?
I have some dental issues that I can't afford to fix (part of why I'm going back to school). I don't want to get stuck in a catch 22 of "I can't get into school because of my teeth but can't fix my teeth until I go to school and get a job".

Thanks for your imput

Hi am in a similar position.Have serious dental issues.Had my dental done and the dentist ticked the box which said poor dental health but she added a sentence which read can be corrected with full dental treatment.I still got accepted and will be starting sept 8.She also said they don't look at the dental exam report and it wasn't important. Not sure about that cause then why make you do it?Well hope this helps ang good luck.

Wow, I've never heard of that. I can't think of why that would be a determining factor of acceptance or denial into a program.
