    Put both Fun2care.

Lalajenn is right. They told me the same thing last year at the info session. If you only put one school and you don't get in there, they may call you to offer the other school or they may not. Stack the odds in your favor.

I've dealt with the Health Occupations office before. They can be very 'iffy'.

Put Northlake first and El Centro second since that is really what you want.

I don't know why you are stressing though! With your grades, GPA and as organized as you are, you'll get in way before the rest of us!
I have a 4.0 and I am working on my last prereq. now (A&P 1) and 1 support class. I already have a few other support classes completed. Next semester I am taking A&P 2 and I am thinking about waiting until next semester to apply and go ahead and get Micro out of the way before I start nursing classes. Any suggestions? I hear micro is pretty hard and it's almost certain that I will be working part time during RN school.

Hi Amy!! Everyone that I've talked to said to get as many support courses as you can out of the way. So, if you're able, I'd go ahead and get Micro done. I have to re take Micro, it's already been over 5 years

They said that they are not Jr/Sr level courses.

The course #s begin w/ 1 or 2, not 3 or 4. lol (1411 & 1412.....& 2313) So, I have to have 6 credit hours of Jr/Sr level electives before going into the RN-BSN program.

BUT.......I guess I really need to concentrate on getting my ADN first!
Fun2care...check into CLEP for Spanish at UTA. My old roommate went to UTA and did CLEP for Spanish and got credit....I'm thinking 6 hours. Check it out...it's just a test and if you pass you get the credit hours.

If someone has a 4.0 and didn't get in there had to be a reason....maybe they didn't take or pass the NET, maybe their immunizations were not taken care of, didn't have a CPR card, or maybe a physical was not attached.

Either that, or they were just lying. lol

ECC told me that the cut off for Fall '05, as you may have read on an earlier post, was 3.77 with 11 support credits.

Did you just apply? Good luck to you too!

Can someone please help me out. I have been meeting people at different dcccd schools who are telling me that they applied to El Centro with a 4.0 and did not get in after several times of trying. Now I thought that the last cut-off for GPA was a 3.77 so are these people not telling the truth or am I missing something?? P.S. Good luck to those who just turned in their applications.

The CPR card..I don't have mine yet. I called and asked if we needed it for the application and she said no but to get it ASAP. I'm getting it 9/30.

If you know you are going to need to work, I would definitely get most if not all of the support courses out of the way. I did that, and I will not be working. (At least that's the plan as of right now.) One, it helps to get you in, two, you don't want other classes to take time out from studying for your nursing classes.

As for the Spanish, I'm not sure if I know enough. I still need to take the 4th semester of Spanish at DCCCD to have all of the lower levels, then try to CLEP out of the Jr/Sr levels???? OHHHHH NO LO COMPREHENDO!!!!! lol

I'm a 1 sentence fluent person! LOL ....ok, maybe not 1 sentence, but like I said, I'm not sure if I know enough to CLEP it. I really never did get the past/future/past particple, etc stuff down. I just figure if I say I'm doing something now, the person should know I meant last week!

I really do need to watch a spanish TV station more often to try to brush up on my spanish.

Good luck to you with your classes, and your future application!

Can you take it down there to be added to your application? I guess if you qualify for entry ranking wise, they may call to see if you have your CPR or immunizations that you didn't have proof of on your application. I don't know how they do that.

Did you happen to ask if they started divi'ing up the seats?

AFter I'm done, I'm going to take it down there. I put a copy of my receipt saying that I'm taking it 9/30, and after I'm done I plan on taking it to the Health Occupation office.

Hey, as far as the Spanish, watch Dora!! Kalynn (my 3yr old) watches it and has picked up A LOT of Spanish! She now speaks Spanglish!

Hey do you guys know it EL Centro/ Northlake accepts CLEP credit for any of the nursing pre-req courses?

My best friend is thinking about applying along with me! I am so thrilled that she and I may be in this together.

She has all the pre-reqs but CLEP'ed out of Algebra and got credit for it. Will they take that?
YES!!! CLEP is accepted!!! I almost did the same thing.
