Cuurently in Pre Reqs Stage

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Is anyone currently in the process of completing the pre reqs for our nursing program? How has it been so far? What are your most effective study habits? HAS ANYONE TAKEN 2 NATURAL SCIENCE COURSES DURING THE SAME SEMESTER??

A&P II and Human Groth and Development left before I can apply... If I can money wise I'm gonna try and fulfill all my requirements and have nothing but nursing left to do.

After this semester, I have A&P II(in the summer) and Micro before I apply. Our school only requires you to take either Chem or Physical science(which is what I took) outside of A&P I, A&P II, and Micro. You have to get permission if you want to take A&P II and Micro in the same semester. But some people take Chem or physical science at the same time they take A&P I or A&P II. The one girl I know who did it(not the smartest cookie in the jar might I add) did not do very well because she was working and didnt take the time to study. I think my effective study habits are letting myself rest enough so I dont overload my brain and studying in chunks so I can study, take a break, or move on to another subject.

I'm going to keiser, in the fall and taking ENG1102 on the weekends, Intro to Psych, and Computers online this summer as well as getting my CNA & PCT certificate during the week. I'm going to Keiser and they have human anatomy 1 & 2 in month long classes. 4 weeks per class. It has me wondering about the course load & if it will be too much for me for those heavy sciences only being 4 weeks long??

My wife took A&P I & II back to back at Keiser and it was so much material to learn in a very short amount of time that she barely retained any of it, and mind you she received A's in both classes.

Okay, that's what I was thinking. Its by the grade. Is she currently in the program now? I'm aiming for the Jan 2015 start date.

She only took her gen-ed requirements at Keiser and is currently doing her last class of micro applications. After this she will go to a community college to do her radiology courses. However she is very nervous cause she felt that she did not retain much even though she has a perfect 4.0 GPA and if they expect her to recall material from the previous courses she will not know it in great detail unlike other student who had 16 weeks to study the material.

Good day, VegasVet:

Outside of a speech class I'll be taking this summer (a fast-paced, six week class), I've done enough of my prerequisites to apply for clinicals at the end of this semester (ending this coming week). I started my prerequisites last June.

This semester, I took Anatomy and Physiology II, Life Cycle (aka span) Development, Microbiology, and Nutritional Science. Considering Nutrition has been harder than AP2 and Microbiology, it might be counted as a natural science course, not sure. This has been most difficult semester to date; yet it was doable. I found https://allnurses.com/pre-nursing-student/how-get-any-846733.html to be extremely helpful every single semester for every class.

Thank you.

Thank you Chris for you feedback! @pmabraham, preview, lecture, review & study has been an effective tool for me since I started my pre req' thanks to that particular feed! Thank you!

Well I'm going to spend all my time studying this summer ...I have bio health science and lab, intro to chem and lab and bio non majors and lab. Only because I want it all done soon! Two labs are in class, the rest are online so I can work as a PCT. Plus the pre bio and chem are for a program in colorado. The a and p classes are taken in the program so if we take it before we have to take it again.

@tnicnat I'm currently in school for PCT I'm entering my 3rd week at Robert Morgan, so far so good. We haven't started clinicals yet. Did you take your CNA exam while in the program?

I took A&P II with micro last semester. I took both of those with 3 other classes and did fine. Just organize your time.
