Will the Fall cohort have the same orientation? I think it's April 21 for us.

Not quite sure. They told me I should be receiving a packet in the mail sometime this week. I will let you know. I would be great to meet everyone in the Summer and Fall cohorts.

Hello Everyone! Congrats to those who got accepted. I am very interested in the CSUN accelerated program. I have a lot of pre-reqs to take and hope to pass them with A's. However my undergrad GPA was pretty low...3.1, but w/a double major and a minor in a Liberal Arts/Humanites from a top 25 university. If I do well on the pre-reqs, and I get some experience in the health field, (working in a nursing home) what are my chances of getting in? I hear the competition is stiff!! People w/3.9's getting rejected?? Is this true?

If at all possible, could you please share your background, like gpa and major, etc. Because I am trying to figure out if I am just wasting my time. I really want to get in. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Get A's in the science prereqs, make sure you take the classes to satisfy the title V requirement (US History and political science) and go for it. Experience in a nursing home trains you in the basics of nursing, so I think that would be helpful.

Good luck!

You will definately need to get A's in your core sciences. I completed most of the title V, but not all of them. Do stuff that makes you stand out from other applicants, get to know your professors so they can write a great recommendation letter for you. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice folks. It does seem like a tough competition. The only class I'm worried about acing is chem. Also, could you tell me where I could take an epidemiology class? How many letters of recommendation do I need? I don't think I can get one from faculty b/c I have been away from college for like 4 years now and I went to a huge university where it was hard to get to know professors.

Thanks again!
