Nursing Students School Programs

Hello Everyone,

I am applying to the columbus tech college RN program for spring 2015. I have A's in both A&P's and a B in micro. I will take the compass this month and I will take the NLN on the 17th of this month. Good Luck to everyone. Whats your grades or test scores so far?

I'm applying for Columbus Tech's ADN program (spring 2015) as well. I have an A in A&P 2, an A in Microbiology, and I am currently re-taking A&P I because it is over 7 years old. I will be taking the NLN for the first time next month. I also need to take the COMPASS.

I understand that Columbus Tech recently shortened the duration of the program to just 3 semesters. It sounds very convenient to be able to start this January (if I get in!) and graduate less than a year later in December, but I know that the schedule will be intense. So far, I have heard that classes/labs/clinicals will be held M-Th from 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (possibly starting/ending even earlier/later).

Have you heard anything about the difficulty of the program? Do a lot of people fail out? I'm kind of nervous, because I will be passing-up acceptance offers to other programs in order to (hopefully) attend Cols Tech...

Hello, I am starting my pre reqs there in two more days. I am taking A & Physiology with Ms. Duke. I won't be able to apply until 2015.

Hi!! im reatking my math class to get a better grade this semester. i will be retaking the nln exam this month as well. and i will be retaking the writing part of the compass this month. I heard it is hard work, but the faculty is very helpful. I hope I get accepted. I applied to other schools but this is my first choice. I will post any updates or infomation i find here. Good Luck!!

Good luck. Once the process is complete feel free to ask me any questions you like. cutoff info or anything

Thanks, good luck to you as well. Since you mentioned cutoffs, do you know if they have established a cutoff yet for GPA, NLN scores, or COMPASS scores? I am hoping to be able to apply with at least a 3.8, so I hope I'll be competitive in that regard. I'm kind of worried, though, because I've heard they always get their fair-share of people who apply with 4.0 GPAs...

Havent heard of any cutoff yet. I emailed the nursing department about last years accepted nln exam but im waiting on a response. your gpa sounds great. My GPA is about the same. For the compass scores ive read previous post with accepted scores of 97,98,99 range.

I also haven't been able to get any information from the program in regard's to previous accepted classes' applicant statistics. Have you applied to any other programs? Also, have you heard anything about the average accepted GPA? Honestly, it seems like it's fairly easy to get accepted to the other local programs, but I've heard that C. Tech is the hardest. Not to be nosy, but do you mind if I ask what you made on the NLN? I've never taken it before and don't really know what to expect in terms of difficulty.

I applied to 2 other schools but both are 5 semesters. My number one goal is c tech. I think it is hard to get in due to its only 3 sem to get adn. Havent heard anything on gpa other than students that posted back in 2012:no:. I took the nln las semester and got 114 and u need 115 to even apply, so im putting my head in the books and hopeing for the best. When I took it, it was mostly physics and no A and P which sucks cause I have that down. Hopefully someone will respond to my email and i can inform you

I seen that it was three semester despite that other colleges are 4 to 5 semesters. I wonder why Columbus is shorter, maybe it's more intense. I hope it's still three semesters when I apply for the 2016 spring entry. Good luck to you both!

Hi,

I am also applying to compete for the RN program at CTC. I am extremely nervous and hopeful to get accepted. I previously graduated from their Pharmacy Technology program but have decided to return to pursue my 1st love which is nursing. I have done well in my pre-reqs. I have to retake my compass because my scores will expire next month which really sucks because I scored the highest possible in both reading and writing so I'm hoping to pull that off again! I'll take the compass next month. If I'm not mistaken we can turn our application in as early as September 15th?? I know only a select few will get in so I wish everyone the best of luck!
