Clayton State University Spring 2018 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello All,

I am applying for Clayton States Nursing Program for Spring 2018. I just took the Kaplan on the 6th and wanted to see who else is applying with me this semester! I made a 76 on the Kaplan and I have a 3.52 GPA. For anyone else who wants to join this forum on our journey to Nursing School this semester you're more than welcomed !!! Add your stats too !

Hey! I am applying for the 2nd time now after getting waitlisted last semester :( I made an 86 on the KNAT and now my GPA is a 3.2? I wanna believe with my GPA up a little I'll make the cut this time around.

This is my first time applying to CSU's nursing program.. or any nursing program. Kaplan 79, Overall GPA 3.08, BCPM GPA 3.05. Hopefully, I will get in on my first try because I didn't apply for any other nursing program *fingers crossed*.

I find it hard to understand why you didn't get in with an 86 KNAT and 3.2 GPA:( ... according to their requirements, you should have a "good" chance. Fall is usually more competetive than the spring but still... don't worry. Just keep swimming! You'll get in this time

@mnewland you'll get in this time around just keep the faith! Just as @pandalele said I find it hard to believe that you were wait listed with those stats...

@pandalele good luck to you as well! Were all in this waiting process together... I'm looking forward to all of us receiving good news in these next couple of months !

Well, my GPA went up a little since I applied. My overall is a 3.0 now, before it was a 2.9? The average gpa of people that got in for fall were at a 3.4. So theres still a good chance I won't get in again this time around. :/

@mnewland stay positive !

There was a girl I met in my A&P lab, who was retaking the class the 2nd time. She previously got rejected about 3 times by CSU's nursing program so she was practically just taking filler classes until she gets accepted into nursing. She told me she was going to keep on applying until they got tired of seeing her name on those applications. Long story short, after her interview and a week into November, she never came back to lab (not even to take the final lab practical!). She had finally gotten accepted. Btw this story is legit, I didn't just make it up lol.

Moral of the story is... don't lose hope. She didn't and she got in. Even med school applicants often have to apply multiple times before they make it in the second time around... or the third. All we can do right now is wait it out and hopefully not receive any letters in October because from what I heard, October letters = rejection.

Btw my "nursing" science GPA is also crap (2.7 currently; below the minimum 2.8). In fact, my nursing advisor actually told me that I wouldn't even make it in because it is so low, and insinuated that I shouldn't even bother applying. BUT SCREW THAT. I rather apply and let the nursing faculty tell me no than to not even bother applying because my nursing advisor told me I'd never make it in. I'm taking a chance and rolling the dice.

Hi,

My overall GPA is 3.28, M/S GPA 3.22. I scored an 89 on the KNAT. I have one attempt at all classes and I am finishing up my prerequisites this semester. This is my first time applying to the program and the wait is already making me so nervous!! Good luck to everyone!
