    Hey guys, I am doing some final review before exams next week. I want to double check to make sure I am doing this problem right. Can someone double check me on these:

    Basic mole problem:

    2Mg + O2 ---> 2MgO

    How many moles of magnesium are needed to react with 16 g of O2?

    I came up with: 16 g O2 x 1 mol O2/32.00 g O2 x 2 mol Mg/1 mol 02 = 1.0 mole

    and one more:

    The number of moles of O2 gas needed to react with 4.0 moles of Mg:

    4.0 mole Mg x 1 mole O2/2 mole Mg = 2.0 mole O2

    I think I am over thinking these and making it too hard on myself.

    Thanks for your help.

    We are told we don't need Chem either for our program however if you look into the details we find that that Chem although not a requiremtent for nursing is required for other classes. Its a good course to take regardless most of the sciencest dealing in chemistry alot.

    Yeah, you're right, but I am a second degree applicant, so they only need me to do six prereqs.

    Is anybody out there currently enrolled in Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry? I just started, my school works in the quarter system so we are just starting the winter quarter and I have 9 weeks left of this stuff. My previous history with Chem is Intro to Chem, General Chem I, but that was 13yrs ago..... I did make A's maybe B's in those classes, but it has been so long. I do seem to put in many hours of study and will do so in order to pass with at least a "C" or better inorder to start my BSN-accelerated program in Aug'07. I just wanted to know if there is anyone who logs onto this site with a good solid knowledge base of organic chem that I can turn to? Let me know, thankyou!

    My school has 'intro to organic and biochemistry", what does you all's school call the chem class?

    I just finished with Fundamental of Chemistry and loved it!! It included organic and inorganic . . . it covered the basics/intro of Chemistry.

    Im taking Chem 100 and would love to be in the club. I looked at MSN groups but they didn't have one. But they do have a wonderful A&P group. A retired A&P professor, Mr Flynn, made all his quizzes, slides, test, and exams available to us struggling students. They made me drop back to Bio 112 b/c I had to stay out a semester do to medical problems, therefore, I haven't had a chance to utilize the group sufficiently. But I have practiced the test and things trying to keep up with my knowledge (you don't use it you'll lose it theory). Now I will have Chem and Bio at the same time. I'll quit rattling on!! Suffering from pure t boredom!! The A&P site is Anatomy & Physiology Tests
    It is all FREE!! Check it out!!

    Chemistry was my most feared subject. I almost didn't pursue nursing because of it. However, I took it this semester and I got an A, WooHoo. Heck, if I can do it so can you. Enjoy your semester.

    this was me too!! I just got my grade though and got an A as well I am so happy, it was hard but you know I ended up really enjoying it. Chemistry was a much different class then I thought it was, it was so much more math then I thought. But if you get the basics study hard from the begining because everything builds on everything else. Learn your formulas practice aranging equations because thats the jist of the whole class.
