I'm just wondering if its worth it to do a bsn or do a LPN
I have been accepted for both ..
Bsn 27 months and LPN 16 months for sept
I'm totally dependant on student loans
Both are over 3500 a term then I got to pay bills
Would I make that much more at my age to justify the bsn or would lpn be a better rouge
Oh sorry
I'm 49 in october

I would opt for the BSN program. Successful completion of the BSN program will lead to licensing as an RN and a greater range of employment opportunities.

Get the BSN! Around here, about the only job I could get as an LPN is working in long-term care or subacute rehab.
If you have the BSN, you can work your way in to management.

This shouldn't even be a debate go for the BSN. Why do the same job for half the pay...
ok but financial costs are a concern. im not sure if students loans will cover my costs
bsn is 190 a credit
so each term 16 credits
that's 3500 then books 500 or so =4000k
I know students loans will give me 320 max and 250 bursary per week.
so financial if I can do it ill do the bsn-pb
but I already paid commitment to cover for lpn in case.
The tuition is only going to go up the longer you wait. The LPN program is probably 12-18 months then you'll want to bridge and add another 2 years to school. Just get it done with now since you are fortunate enough to be accepted into a BSN program. I chose the LPN route because I was so behind in school I was just ready to start working as a nurse. Do the BSN take out loans if you have to and pay them off when you graduate.
No I wasn't accepted in the bsn my status is inadmissible. The program coordinator said I met the requirements and to ignore the letter for more docs. I needed to submit proof..I did that last year and was accepted but turned em down due to financial over calculation of the program.cost I got 78k for 2 years
I was accepted into LPN and paid 300 for a seat as a backup
So now it looks like I am doing not psych nursing or bsn but LPN. If I get a job its more suited to my personality and the base salary minus the cost of education and loss in working salary are pretty close
So at 49 I will restart in LPN and hope to get a job after
