Bizarre Dream

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I've signed up for a CNA course and orientation is in 5 weeks so I have no doubt, thinking of this triggered this dream. I'm sure others have had dreams as well so I thought we could share. The other threads I found on dreams were all old.

It was to be Orientation day so I was dressed in civilian clothes and had no gear with me (in real life, we'll get school-issued scrubs, cardiac stethoscope, bp cuff, etc at orientation). In my dream, I reported to a hospital instead of our school. The woman I thought to be my nursing instructor turned out to be a charge nurse on a hospital floor and she kept grilling me about patients. She expected me to take vitals on patients and kept asking me where my scope and bp cuff was. I kept telling her "we haven't had class yet. I haven't learned that yet."

I looked around and my classmates were all wearing scrubs and had their scopes and bp cuffs. They had their scopes draped around their necks and bp cuffs wrapped around the scopes. They knew we were expected to perform today. At what was to be our 30 minute lunch, I told the charge nurse I'd run home and change and grab my things. I knew full well, it would take longer than 30 minutes but hoped she wouldn't notice. Then, of course, on the way home, I'm in unfamiliar areas and the scenery keeps changing as I frantically try to drive home part way, then jump out of the car and run the rest of the way.

At some point during my run home, I realized I was dreaming and I woke up before I ever made it there.

Just bizarre.

That was so funny because it reflects a nursing students worst fears!!! Thanks for sharing!

I cannot tell you how many dreams I have had about being late to class, especially tests. I end up at school late, random students glare at me when I enter the class, and I realize it's test day, I haven't studied, and I don't have a pencil! Then I wake up and have to check to make sure my alarm clock is on and functional, you know, just in case. No wonder I wake up tired. :oldman: I hope your dreams will be better tonight!
