I went to the library and checked out the GED book. I studied that and scored very well on the NET.

Order the official study guide: The NET, The HOBIT and THE HELP. And you can also buy an extra sample test online at the Education Resources website.

I'm taking the NET tomorrow night, ack.

I just took the NET last month and if you done well with high school and your prerequisites you will do just fine. The math is basic but there is ALOT of reading comp. lots! Just take your time, but don't get freaked, its not as hard as you may think it is.
    best wishes!!

Did anyone else take the online test offered on the Educational Resources website (for $15)?

If so, how did you actual score compare to the score you got on the practice test?

I would begin by studying in depth the Study Guide for the NET by ERI. If you understand all of the math and can answer the questions backwards and forwards easily (esp. the %), you will have no problem with the math section. The reading comprehension is a little trickier. You know yourself best as to whether you read and comprehend science-based text material quickly ... or if it takes you more time to go back over the material before you understand it (like me!). This is where you may need additional help, but there are other study guides that have science-based reading comprehension that you can look at. If I had to do it all over again, I would have prepared more for the reading comp. part and obtained multiple entrance exam books and concentrated on the reading sections to increase my reading speed. Make sure you understand main theme, inference, etc.

Good luck and remember to b-r-e-a-t-h-e during the test!

Yes, I took the online test for $15.00. I scored a little better in-person than I did on the online test. But then again, that was the purpose of taking the online test -- to give me the experience of taking a timed test. My NET composite was a 94 (99th percentile). I really do recommend doing the practice tests in the study guide and the online test. Took all of the anxiety out of the test!
