Keep trying!!! They just hired a unit secratery who has NO experience in a hospital or the medical field and I was like SERIOUSLY!!! I've been with Baylor for the past 8 years. I work in the lab and some times I moonlight as a nurse tech around the hospital. I'll keep an eye out for you. I've heard its hard to get hired unless you are recommended. I was recommended by a friend and was hired on the spot, so dont give up.

The best way to get in is to call that dept directly and talk to the manager and tell them what you are trying to do. It is so easy to pass someone up on paper but if they have spoken to you. They will remember you and pull ur application. You have to be harassing! Also you can take a quick class on patient care tech or phlebotomist and that will help you. EMT is good to, we have alot of techs in ER that are EMT certified

i was going to do PCT but PCIhealth was trying to break my pockets.. it was 9000.00 and the other pcts are all during a semester. only fall and spring..and phlebotomy is all up front and it was 1200-3000. the one i did find where you can take them seperately and it was only 500ish and the clinical didnt end until august 31..sooo yeahh that would work.. so i decided to do EMT because its 369.00 at brookhaven and it ends July 31.

I know the feeling I went to PCI about 11 years ago for medical assistant and I took awile for me to pay them off. But those technical schools are a scam. They charge you and arm and a legg! So get in there, so you can start getting some experience. I love the medical field!!! If I wasn't in it I would have to be a marine or FBI agent because I love intense situations and blood and guts.haha. I'm so glad I found you!!! Know one understands what your going through unless their in the same situation.

To be an ER tech you have to be CPR certified. Not sure of the other requirements but they draw blood, do EKG's and assist the RN. But yeah, call the manager and see whats up. I do know that they can and will hire you if you have completed your first semester of nursing school as a Nurse Tech.

They are on there every know and then, but job posts never stay up long. But I would cal the manager. They only use nurse techs in er, all other depts use patient care techs, which is the same but nurse tech have more skills and are able to do more. Plus, the try to get you early so if you work for them as a nurse tech they will likely make you an offer after you graduate nursing school.
