Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

hello,

well i cant decide now between an miami dade accelerated program which is 3 semesters full time or generic program which is 4 semesters ( full time/part time). the upside of the generic program is that i can apply for the scholars program with baptist and have school paid for and a guranteed job for 2 years when i finish ( assuming im accepted into the scholars program theres no guarantee) the downside is that program is 18 months i believe where as the accelerated is only 12 months all for the same degree but theie is no scholars program for accelerated student ..why i have no idea....any advice?

Apply to both and then decide. Put yourself into a position of choice. Once you are accepted into both, and I say when because I don't do that if stuff. Once you are accepted i'm sure you will gravitate towards one or the other.

Do you want to be set up for a job for 2 years? Do you know the pay; where it is; it sounds intriguing but sometimes you never know. Or do you want the freedom to choose where you can go to work without being boggled down. I personally would choose the first one. Sometimes those red tape programs seem more trouble than they are worth IMO.

Either way I'm prayin for ya.

I agree, I would apply to both and when you get your answer back who knows what your mind set will be by then.. the answer might be easier then! Personally, I would be tempted by the second only b/c school is being paid for and you have a guaranteed job however it's not guaranteed you will like it. I would get more details and make a list of pro's and con's. What are the details ("red tape" like kaysmom2 said) to each program? While one is a longer commitment but a guarantee of stability and of what to expect, the other leaves you more room to do what YOU want. Depending on your personality, I have to think one might be more up your alley? In your gut, don't let your mind talk you into anything, what do you feel? If this were your best friend in this situation, what would you tell them? Deep down you know what you want but we often talk ourselves into and out of what we think is best, don't think.. how do you feel at the idea of being stuck somewhere 4 semesters and 2 years, finishing after 3 and having (and being allowed to) find a job?
