Anyone waiting on Acceptance/Rejection Letter '2012

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I am now playing the waiting game. Applied to only 1 school for Spring of 2012, finished my pre-req's with a 3.7 GPA and passed the NLN in the 94 percentile. Now Im waiting to hear whether or not I got in. Advisor said decision would be made middle of this month with letters going out end of this month. These weeks seem to be dragging. I feel confident I got in with my scores but who knows how everyone else did. So there is always that doubt.

Just looking for some company for those playing the waiting game too. :yeah:

I got my acceptance letter today!!!! I am so excited, I start in August. What a sigh of relief! Congrats to all who got in!!:w00t:

Specializes in Cardiac ICU and surgical ICU.

I have run into a problem...need advice. Got blessed and got accepted at vanderbilt nurse prac school and tennessee tech for lpn...waiting on Motlow reply. More than little confused on what to go for...credit not so hot and rehabilitating a default student loan this minute...paying for vande seems impossible...working on scholarships too but who knows how long that will take...have pre Reqs to do for vande and Motlow if accepted as well...ADVICE, please.

I'm anxiously awaiting my letter. It should be coming any day.

Where did you all apply? How many times? What GPA?What TEAS or other tests? Those kinds of things maybe?

I applied to Georgia State University. This is my first time. My pre-req GPA is 4.0, program GPA 3.73, and overall GPA (combined with my other degree) is 3.55. My adjusted TEAS is 91.3%.

I'm not doing so fantastically in A&P now, though. I'm terrified that I'll get into the program and then fail A&P and have to give up my spot D: Only one test and a final left!

I got my acceptance letter today!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited, ecstatic, thrilled, every good emotion you could think of!

Congrats on your acceptance :yeah:

It's for all of 'em!

Ok, so I had my interview this morning, and I rocked it, if I do say so myself. My interviewer said she was very impressed with me, and ranked me "Highly recommended." Now that interview packet goes along with the rest of my application to the admissions review board, and I should have a decision in 2-3 weeks. Fingers crossed!

Good luck that's great news!!!!

What school bmellissa?

Hey Guys-

I'm going to be a Senior in the fall at Rhode Island College, where I'm getting my BSN. I just wanted to offer some words of encouragement to anyone who doesn't get into thier program.

I had to apply 4, yes 4 times to my program. The first time I had a 3.2, then finished my prereqs tried again with a 3.3 at that point I started taking the classes that I had gotten B's in over again to get an A, and I also starting taking psych classes because I loved them and I got an A in them without much effort. I applied to my program with a 3.5 and got rejected again. Took some more classes a second time and got my GPA up to a 3.7 and Finally I got in. My college was overwhelmed with applicants and I had started out at the community college and was considered a transfer student. Transfer students and 2nd degree students make up 20% of 60-70 students.

I was accepted in 2010 and should be graduating next December but I started going part time when my mom was diagnosed with melanoma last May and I took care of her until she passed away in January so I ended up spreading out the last semester of my junior year over 2 semesters but I'll be full time in the fall again. This has been so tough, but I know I will be a better nurse after having the honor of taking care of her, staying with her as she took her last breaths.

I can't believe I started school 6 years ago and it really does fly by especially after you get in the program. I became a CNA when I was 17 so I've been doing patient care for 8 years and that's CRAZY to me too!

I hope you love your clinicals as much as I do. Try not to get too frustrated when the nurses/professors are "mean" and look for something you can change in yourself/take away from the situation it took me a LONG time to figure that out!

Good luck guys and Congrats to those of you who got in and to those of you who didn't, if you really really really want it you will find a way!
