I took the HESI A2 today and it was much easier than I thought. I am glad I studied the guide a bit but the Kaplan's nursing guide helped me more. The Hesi is easier than the book. It had reading comprehension, grammar, vocab, chemistry (wasn't bad and I don't have much experience in it) A&P (was my worst and I am in my 2nd class in it) Don't get that at all. It also had biology that was very simple and straightforward. The math was super easy and I am one of those people that have math anxiety. LOL. I think it is great if you don't have to study and can get in the 90s but I needed to and was glad that I did and glad that I took some practice tests. It gave me more confidence. I just wait now to find out if I got in the school of my choice. Good luck to all. Boy am I glad that's over. Friday the 13th isn't unlucky to me anymore. LOL.

Easy is relative to what you consider easy; a person who has not had biology,

chemistry or even algebra(since high school) would not consider this test easy.

I have yet to take it and am so stressed because of the above mentioned things.

I'm sorry, I was trying to make everyone feel a little easier about it. I never took chemistry in my life. I took algebra and biology in college 12 years ago so I can understand being stressed out. I have a BA so I can write a paper but science was just something that I took because I had to. I took the minimum amount to graduate. I am trying to start a new career so I was extremely overwhelmed. I am not someone saying that I could just do nothing and pass the test with flying colors. It took 3 weeks of serious studying. I just listed that the HESI A2 study guide did help but that Kaplan's nursing guide helped as well. I did score in the 90s but only because I studied every moment I had. I think it was just easy compared to what I made it out to be before I took it. I hope you do well. The fact that you had those classes in the past will help you. You just need refreshers. I can't guarantee those books and practice tests will help but they helped me and I really didn't think anything could.

Good luck!!

Hi I just took the HESI last week! I took the reading, vocab, grammer, A&P, and BIO. I was really worried about the math. I really hate math! Surprise! It was easier than I thought. Very basic know fractions, %, decimals, order of operations, coversions( ML to G, pints to gallons) Some word problems but only one or two levels deep( like add then change to %).The worst part of the math was we could not have scratch paper Try to subtract improper fractions in your head, not fun. The worst part for me was the BIO alot of molecular level stuff( osomosis, diffusion, cell structure and function, steps of DNA replication. The A&P was heavy on the chemistry also, but also has some really easy questions. Know your anatomy and basic functions. Know anatomical positions(distal, transverse etc..) electrolytes, blood path thru heart. The reading/vocab was good for me, but the class average was 70%. Review your basic grammer/spelling rules, vocab is medical terms and some of the usual bizarre words they throw in. Know you medical pre-fix/suffix. Don't save the reading comp for last like I did! Its long and boring! I was whipped and needed to concentrate. Use the study guide by HESI that is the best predictor for whats on the test! I over studied with other test prep books and didn't need too! Just learn the HESI book and you will be fine! I have to take the Mobility Exam next week anyone offer any insights??

HEY......!!!!
Thank you so much you have no ides how happy you made me. The school im applying for they only wont math, grammer, reading, vocab, and A@P. Im with you i hate math, but if you say its just basic math i will be fine!!!! Just need to brush up on some A@P, I bought the Hesi Evolve study guide, and the hints in the book that they tell you to look over is that basically what they mean to look over for the test.... What school are you applying for, AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

You are lucky to just have the A&P! The Bio was the worst! Math is basic just know whats in the study guide(especially fractions). You will do great! I am applying to Edison State College in Florida. The LPN to BSN. Do you have to take the NLN mobility test? I have that next week. Let me know how it goes!
