Anyone else on a waiting list?

I just got an email that I am on the waiting list for UIC. It is almost worse than being rejected because now I have no idea if I am starting school in the fall or not. I just want to know one way or the other. The email said that I would find out if I got in any time from May to August. My life is on hold until then.

I guess if I don't get in I will become a CNA so I can get some experience in a hospital. I feel like crying right now, but I think I am still in shock. I kept hoping that I would get in. And people kept saying that I should have no problem getting in because I have a good GPA (3.8). They just don't understand how competitive nursing school is.

Thank you! Actually I got into RUSH as well, so I guess we'll all be at nursing schools downtown Chicago :]

I am and it stinks. I am on the waitlist and am in the top 20 on the list but there are only 56 slots...so not looking too hot. *sigh*. All my prereqs are done so I am just twiddling my fingers now. The reason I didn't get in was b/c I didn't have credits with that school so once I move and get in the area of the school I have to take a random class so I have credits with em. Strange.

It's always something ain't it Blessed. There are sooo many rules. It's like they tell you to wear a pink bikini but didn't mention it has to be polka dot and you brought solid. Nursing school's I tell ya...

I know right? lol. At least someone understands my pain! What was really ridiculous is that there are multiple persons in there who have a much lower GPA but since they were able to take a class (I am 16 hours away right now (have been for a few years) we are moving up there in a couple weeks) they get chosen first. I don't get it but hey...things happen for a reason right? Congrats on your January date! WOO HOO!!!

Prinsessa! I got offered a spot at UIC for Fall '07.. ofcourse I accepted! This was really unbelievable for me since I was in the #30s in the waitlist-- I got really lucky!
