Hi! I am new to the forums! I have applied for Fall admission to Hillsborough CC and SPC, and was wondering if anyone else out there is hoping to hear soon??

I will be applying this May for Jan 2010 evening program at HCC. What is your gpa? usually over 3.25 and you're in.

I have heard that if you don't live or work in St. pete that it is almost impossible to get admitted to SPC's nursing program.

Hi! I'm glad someone finally responded
my gpa for the prereqs is a 3.4, so I'm hoping I'm in. I really want to go to HCC over SPC, I'm in New Port Richey so it's much closer. Good luck to you! I'm so anxious waiting to hear something...it's making me crazy!

Unless the pool of applicants gpa have increased exponentially, if your gpa for the pre reqs is 3.4, I would expect you to get in. It seems that HCC takes a long time to send out letters but I wouldn't sweat it.

Did you apply for the day or evening program? Where did you do your pre-reqs? Yes, HCC is closer to you and if you're in, you won't have to deal with the bridge everyday.

Good luck.

Hey...I'm hoping that is the case. They said to expect to hear around the end of March/beginning of April. Of course I'm hoping that they just say that so we don't bug them and that they send them out sooner

I took most of my prereqs when I got my bachelors degree back forever ago (I have a bio/psych degree). I took A&P I and II and Sociology last year at USF online. It worked out great for me b/c I was able to do them from home (I have 3 daugthers). Where are you taking yours? I applied for the day program.

Hey guys! I recently moved out of Tampa to try and go to nursing school in MS. I lost my job in outside sales and moved home with parents to take pre reqs. My goal was to get my BSN in an accelerated program. I was chosen as an alternate and was devastated! So, now I am looking at my options. How many pre reqs do you need for HCC? Just curious. I also took A&P I and II, Nutrition, and Human Growth and Development all online. It was tough, but not impossible. Good luck guys!!

HCC- prereqs
AP1
AP2
Microbiology
College Algebra or Liberal Math
English 1
Sociology

Nutrition and HG Development is not required but 1 of them can be used as one nursing elective and if you want to go on to get a BSN, you will need both.
