Re: ANybody applying to NVCC for Fall 09?
16 credits this summer?! What the heck are you taking?
Seriously, if you already have a BS in Psychology you should only have to take NAS 161 & 162, HLT 141 and 250, and if you didn't take Algebra, Chemistry or Biology in high school you will have to do those as well. Other than that your BS should have met your general education requirements. You should try to space your classes out evenly over Summer Fall and next Spring. But save the non-pre-reqs for Spring '10 because the deadline for applications isn't until March 25th 2010. So you have to do the pre-reqs during Summer and Fall. You cannot take any pre-reqs during Spring 2010, only supporting courses.
If you haven't done so already send your transcripts to the MEC for evaluation.
Don't rush into taking the TEAS. Study first, and maybe put it off until you have finished your science pre-reqs, because those will help you out on the test. Most people seem to have problems with the science portion.
Sorry if I told you things you already knew. I just wanted to cover all the bases. And if you don't know already the
MEC advisors will not actually sit down with you and tell you what you need to take, you have to figure that out for yourself. So at any point if you ever get confused or are looking for answers, just send in a checklist (even if it is incomplete) and that will answer all of your questions. Or, ask a friend.
As far as the scholarships go, the deadlines have already passed so if you did apply you should have heard back about whether or not you got an interview by now. If you were just referring to the FAFSA you have a whole month before you will know anything. They will email and mail you everything regarding the FAFSA stuff.
