Any Miami Dade College students going for the acceler. or Generic option fall 2009?

Welcome hmmmm NET exam I didn't hear of such thing at MDC. I called today and the lady told me we should get letters by the end of May. I am wondering one thing. If you get an envelope does that mean it's a rejection letter. If you get a PACKET (big yellow envelope) it means you accepted? I've been reading posts from like 3 to 4 yrs ago trying to figure out this process that I am totally confused about ?

Hi everyone, good luck in getting into the program!!! Today was my first day in mdc. I want to get into the Generic RN track, maybe full time. Did anyone take MAC 1105 or microbiology as a prereq? Do you have to or would you suggest it?

Hmmm...I read a couple of posts that mentioned the big yellow envelopes. You might be right. I applied last fall with a 3.3 and got the small white envelope (rejection). Now that my GPA is higher I'll be looking out for the big yellow one .

You do have to take microbiology and MAC1105 as a prereq, especially for the generic program. What other courses are you taking?

I went last week to the medical campus and the advisor told me that 1297 people apply for the fall semester 2009, that on fall 2008 the gpa cut was 3.6 and for spring fall 2009 the gpa cut was 3.4, he also told me at that time, that they will be entering the information in the computer at the end of this week. and the computer will select students by gpa. It is incledible they make you wait almost 1 month after the registration is close, is not nice because your life is in standby until you get either the denial letter or the acceptence one. I apply for the last semester and I gor rejected I had a 3.35 gpa, at this moment I have a 3.51 I hope is good for this semester gpa cut. I wish all off you good look and lets keep on hopping for a good answer. By the way if you get an invite to the information session let me know so I can have a idea more or less on how the process is going.

You and I are in the same boat. I'm sure you'll get in. You said the cut off was 3.6 last fall? Was this for accelerated or generic?

Thanks. I am currently taking Enc1101, PPE, and SPC1026. I took my CPT about 3 weeks before class, so most of the other classes were taken or were in campuses too far for me.
For next term I wanted to take a science course and PHI since that is a prereq also. Since you said those two ARE prereqs, do you think I should take MAC 1105?

Olofin1, I think you will get in. 3.5 is not a small gpa... that is really intimidating.
I hope my GPA will be as high. I want to aim for a 4.0 but it is easier said than done, huh? :\

I am having a nervous brake down this wait is killing me I look at the mdc e-mail almos 10 times a day they are so many comments that I really dont know if a 3.5 gpa is good for the program. the funny thing about it is that I have been a cardiovascular tech for 16 years and I have work for a hospital for 12 years and because I am not national ertified I can apply for the transitional program, I took recommendation letters from the hospital CNO my supervisor and they told me that they can put the information on my file but this will not make any difference that admittion to the program is on ly base on gpa and computer selection.
