Any Miami Dade College students going for the acceler. or Generic option fall 2009?

BY THIS TIME LAST YEAR MOST OF THE STUDENT WHO GOT ACCEPTED HAD THE LETTER OR THE INFORMATION SESSION INVITE I DONT KNOW WHY THIS YEAR THE PROCESS IS TAKING LONGER?

Maybe we are just the ones NOT ACCEPTED ...........But i know someone who applied with a 3.9 so if she hasn't heard anything that means they have not made a decision......

I just spoke to someone...she said that there were no information sessions scheduled for this time. I asked if she would happen to know what the cut off GPA was and she said that they have not made selections. She told me to wait til the middle of June, letters should definitely go out by then.

OHHHHHHHHH Okay POSITIVE POSITIVE thinking !!!!!!!! LOL This is just not good I dont think I was this anxious since being in my last month of pregnancy .......

I'm sure we will get in. We will! We will! We will! Has anyone heard from students with a 4.0 GPA?

My girlfriend has a 3.9 and there's no way she's not getting in. So she hasn't heard anything as of yet either...............I know she's getting in!!!

I've been reading these posts every now and then, as I also applied to miami dade's nursing program for fall 2009. I have a 4.0 gpa and have not received an acceptance letter or a rejection letter in the mail, but I did receive a flier to attend the open house may 30. I'm not sure if this helps anyone, but I will keep you posted if I hear anything. I called a few days ago and was told letters would be going out mid June, so we'll see. Good luck to everyone!

Facing Unprecedented Budget Cuts and Surging Enrollment, MDC Cancels its Upcoming Open House


Miami, Tuesday, May 26, 2009 - Impacted by unprecedented budget cuts and surging enrollment, Miami Dade College (MDC) is canceling all Open House events scheduled to have taken place at each campus Sat., May 30, 2009. The college’s administration can’t guarantee that prospective students who would have attended the event would be admitted for the fall semester. Once again the MDC Summer Open House scheduled for Sat., May 30, has been canceled.
The college has tried its best to minimize the impact of these factors. However, the significant reduction in state funding will not allow the College to add any new class sections to the 2009-2010 schedule of classes for the fall term. As a result, several of the classes students need in order to continue their studies or graduate may not be available. It is estimated that close to 30,000 students will not be able to take the classes they need and more than 5,000 will not be able to register for any classes this fall. Students are urged to register early.

Well my GPA is not good at all. Its a 2.97.....I know!..I know!! but I still have hope (hope springs eternal, right?).

My close friend was accepted into the transitional with a 2.5, she graduated in December and now is an RN. That doesn't mean much though does it?

My problem is that 10 years ago when I first started college I messed up. I was young and foolish, along with some personal problems school was placed on the back burner. Now all my pre-reqs. are A's and it still seems its not good enough.

If we (or most likely-I.I believe your chances are WAY high) don't make it in, I know there are other schools that will accept [me] flaws and all.
I'll just keep trying. MDC is not the end all be all...although I would prefer to attend there.

God (or whatever other higher power you believe in) has a plan...whatever it is or however long it takes.
