The office staff are use to this every semester, If you can read from past forums every body goes crazy around this time of the year and sincerely they must be sick of all of us calling. I just think that don't realize how difficult it is to be on standby, not been able to plan a Christmas vacation because you cant predict if you will have classes or not as long as we get in the wait will be OK but if I get a denial letter I will be devastated.

I just want to know what the cut of GPA is. Maybe I'll call and ask when the information session will take place, then we'll know how soon letters will go out.

Hi everyone!
I'm fairly new to this site and I'm just happy that I "see" others that are going thru the same neurosis that I am. I'm not alone! I do believe I have developed ulcers because of this.
I know how all of you feel about the waiting. I am a school nurse and I've applied for the transitional program. The not knowing if I should say (at work)yes to coming back in August or not is killing me.
Even though I have heard that getting into the transitional is a bit easier then then the generic, I don't believe it. Anyway, I'll keep praying for all.

Well most of us have a 3.5 BUT I AM STILL NOT CONFIDENT
I mean 1,300 applications is INTIMIDATING what if out of that 800 ppl have 3.5's scareyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Do they have a point system like some other schools have. Like do they give you a point for living in Miami Dade County and so forth.......?

Well, I don't know how any people have 3.5's. The website is misleading. It says you can apply with a 2.0, but it doesn't say that students who are selected have above a 3.5. So there are probably a lot of students who applied not knowing the ropes around MDC's nursing school. It happened to me...I applied with a 3.1 last fall year thinking that it was good enough, but it wasn't. The advisors told me that the GPA needs to be 3.5 or above. So I worked on it. I had to get straight A's this past spring.

Shen06,

I had to work very hard for straight A's also this past spring. Thats the only way i have over a 3.5 so we are still in limbo......But u do make a good point on the site it states all you need is a 2.0 to apply which is misleading so I see your point.......I had no idea about this GPA thing till late last yr

I just sent an email to one of the advisors at the school asking if there will be an information session soon. Hopefully they'll answer. That way we will know when letters will go out.
