Register Today!- Jan 24 by caligirl7Quote from shannonyocumHi shannonyocum I have just been using the voice memos app on my iPhone for recording lectures and they sync right into iTunes. It works great for me so far when I re listen to my anatomy lectures and rewrite my notes.I started A & P 1. It is already a lot of material we need to know. A ton of chemistry and our teacher talks so fast. I am buying a recording devise to help with the lectures. Does anyone know of any good voice recorders to buy? Any suggestions would be great.
- Jan 24 by caligirl7I am so nervous my first mini midterm is Wednesday and a lab exam next Friday. I feel pretty good on the material so far but I am still nervous and don't know what to expect. And I know I need to get as many points as I can because the tests are only going to get harder.

- Jan 24 by RunningonfancyMy teacher is pretty cool so far. I'm taking a&p1 though. He records his lectures on blackboard and it also records the notes he writes on the slides. I got to watch/listen to the Tuesday's class yesterday and attend my night class this evening. I looked very intelligent this evening. I'm only taking this and nutrition though. Maybe I can make it through
- Jan 24 by Austincencali just got done with Anatomy in fall 2012. Man, it was hard. I will tell you what saved me.
I studied my butt off. I recorded lectures and rewrote my notes from the lectures. You will be surprised just how much you miss when you are in class. I found myself wondering how i missed all the information that I did. Trust me on this.
I also found a study partner that could challenge me. I found that when I was quized by my partner, it really helped me narrow down what I knew.
Study harder than you think you need to. Overconfidence is the downfall of a lot of students. Every test that I freaked out about was a test I passed. I received a 91 in the class. I messed up really bad on one test. That test was the only test I had felt confident about! - Jan 24 by caligirl7Quote from AustincencalThanks Austincencal, for the information and advice from someone who has gone through it, survived and got a great grade. I have been doing a lot of rewriting notes multiple times from original to after listening to lecture again then making flashcards and filling out study guide.i just got done with Anatomy in fall 2012. I also have been attending open lab to get more time at seeing the slides before lab exam and then when we start on the cadavers.
I am just hoping all the time and effort I am putting toward this one class will show!
May I ask you where you took anatomy? - Jan 25 by AustincencalIm enrolled at Modesto junior college in CA.
The cadavers really helped me. I also went to 3-4 labs for other classes so I could have more time with models. - Jan 25 by Krys1105I Took Anatomy this past semester. I must say it was tough but it was interesting. I enjoyed it especiially towards the end. My school (Long Island University) splits both courses so your not required to take them both at the same time. I on the other hand decided to do that. I. Must say, I was crazy in a way for doing it that way since it was extremely intensed. I did buy a recorder on my ipad and recorded the lectures and would go home, relisten to them and rewrite my own notes. It helped me out a lot. All I will recommend is every day when possible try and study a little at a time. If you record the lectures re listen to them. Just so when the exam comes along your not overwhelmed studying 5 chapters in 2 days or so. A lot of memoriization. I even have an anatomical skeleton at home which helped me a lot when studying the bones.. Good luck and stay on top. Before you know it the semster will be over. I'm not sure about u but I can sure use a mini get away
Best of luck...
- Jan 25 by caligirl7Thanks all who are giving advice who have already taken anatomy. I am going to Santa Rosa junior college (CA) and only taking one class with it which isn't hard at all. I have a schedule all mapped out for studying as well as going to open labs all week. We aren't allowed to go into other sections labs because the anatomy classes are very impacted and full here. But they offer open labs when there is no anatomy sections scheduled in the lab. I am looking forward to working with the cadavers because in my high school A&P class we did many hands on work with body organs as well as a fetal pig dissection and I was able to grasp the information better working hands on and seeing it in that form rather then a picture in a textbook with a description!! Again thank you all for the advice!!
