Accepted! Now scared :-/

Students Pre-Nursing

Published

So I FINALLY got accepted into an ABSN program. After being rejected the year prior, this was a very happy thing for me. However, I'm also freaking out a bit now. The program is supposed to be intense--a solid 12 months of nothing but studying my butt off. Am I smart enough for this? Do I have the stamina for it? Essentially, do I have what it takes? My other big concern is that I won't be able to find a job after I graduate. I have a previous degree in Psychology, and fairly extensive job experience related to that degree, but I have no real experience to speak of that is directly related to healthcare (unless you count mental health). I'm willing to move and pretty much do whatever I need to do to get my first job, but it's still very nerve-racking to think that I might not be employed fairly immediately after graduating. All in all, I suppose I'm just looking for some reassurance and/or advice. Thanks in advance...

Congrats on your acceptance!

I wouldn't be afraid of the unknown nor doubt my ability to be successful in the program. You'll learn how to manage in due time. I'm sure it'll be rough but still doable.

also i wouldn't stress too much now about not finding a job right now because you are not a nurse yet. when that time comes, then stress about it if not, you're just giving yourself additional headache.

I understand that everyone one is panicking about new grads not being able to find a job but if you are intent on going to NS, there is absolutely nothing you can do to change the work environment. worry about that later. ;-)

Hello and congrats! My motto in life, if God brings me to something he will bring me through it! He mu st know you can do it. You must believe in yourself and trust Him.
