AAAHHHHH!!!!! How does anyone pass A&P I ???

I just need to vent...

I know many, many have passed this before me but OMG!

This is rough. We have our 1st Lab test tomorrow evening, covering everything so far this semester - 4 chapters worth. SO MUCH MEMORIZATION!

My brain is telling me..."you've got to be kidding..." :uhoh3:

Its just too much info..too much....

How does everyone do it???? I was aiming for no less than a 3.75 GPA all through school.....thats a joke now. I'm almost convinced I'll be happy

with a C.

I have no idea how I'm going to pass this class. I failed my first lecture exam with a 64%

This is vey frustrating for me, I'm a 3.75GPA student after 3 semesters of pre-reqs and this course is really kicking my butt!

The pressure is really on though...If I dont pass this course, there will be no starting clinicals in January. :crying2:

After almost every lecture my classsmates and I walk out with these deer in the headlights looks on our faces....the teacher may as well have been teaching in some obscure langauge!

I guess I'm going to have to really, really buckle down and do nothing but spend me time studying A&P. Very hard to do with a bunch of kids, a falling apart marriage and not much of any support! Wish me luck, I think at this point I am failing, I hope its not too late to make it up.

I was the one who dug this out of the archive and quite frankly, I don't feel embarrassed because why bother starting a new thread if the there's already a chain of answers to the same question posted years ago.

Who said anything about feeling embarrassed?? :eek: ... it's actually quite interesting when old threads resurface, I know some of us get sick of seeing the same old ones at the top of the heap. And it would be nice to see what the OP is doing these days in the time since she started the thread.

UPDATE: I was able to peek at the OP's last posts, her last one was in Oct 2008, she apparently became an LPN and got a job working in psych -- that is if anyone really cared to know, there it is ;)

Am glad I am already done with my AP1 & 2 a year ago with the unexpected "A" for both. I was just lucky to excel every exam, and was exempt to take the final exam.

Thanks Professor Thornton and classmates... we had fun in the class.

Happy to know I'm not the only one stressing about A&P...everyone has given great tips for learning it, index cards, coloring books, reading the book/not reading the book, but how do you figure out which one works for you without wasting too much time. I wonder if the learning style test would help? There's so many ways suggested on here that it can be overwhelming, so I'd like to figure out what works best for me. However, I dont want to waste time and make bad grades until I perfect it? Any suggestions?

I was never an index card believer until I had to take a teacher's state exam. I hated the fact that I needed to write the information.

When I took the state's axam, I recalled every answer on the test. I'still don't like them, but the're proven to work. It's up to you.

I also recommend spending extra time in the lab. Body parts look differet in the book than in real life. 15 years ago I took anatomy and we were able to disect a human body. I didn't care to spend extra lab time studying the muscles.

When I would take the lab quiz, I couldn't identify anything. I studied the book's pics but the actual one. Needless to say for sitting in the back row and not spending time in the lab, I got a "C".

I know how you feel. I HAD a 3.8 GPA until I took anatomy. I thought I was doing okay (It was a very overwhelming semester, I was juggling so many things at once, not smart with Anat) at first, and the lab exams I always did okay on, but the lecture exams were impossible. The class started out with 50 people, and dropped down to 18, only half of which passed. I got a C+. I was so mad/upset/infuriated. There goes so many chances of getting into nursing schools. It was sad, especially for how much time I spent studying for that class. Oh well, life goes on. I think overall it made me a much more positive person because no matter what I did there was nothing I could do and I had to accept it.

I'm also taking A&P 1 this fall, I know from the start that I'm going to look like a deer caught in headlights. I just hope I can pass this class. my goal is an A in the class. I beleive it's the name that scares all of us. However, when we get into the class and learn, it's easier than we think it is. I hope this helps, and you do well.

:D I just finished A&P 1 5 weeks ago, I took over the summer, just before micro! Anyway, I had taken A&P 2 in the srping and loved it, got an A yada yada. This A&P 1 sucked! I was also the deer in the headlights! I so remember saying to my husband as I was supposed to know every damn bone in the body for a test, how is this possible? But it is. I found that by making neumonics helped me,. I also used the coloring book and had a little book with everything in it that I carried with me and flipped though in spare minutes. I also had straight A's until that darn class, I got a B and would have been jumping up and down with a C it was so bad,lol! Just keep chugging along. You'll make it out alive one way or another! :up:
