Hi guys just need help with my assignment.

It's basically on a client and i have to make up their condition.

In regards to that i have to choose 3 types of needs such as physical/emotional/recreational etc and discuss how those needs are being met on their condition. I must also discuss a few types of equipment that i can use based on his condition etc.

Thats all really so i'm kind of stuck, would appreciate any help thanks!

I'm not going to do your homework question for you, but I'll help you think -

Ask yourself these questions -

  • What type of person do you generally find in a nursing home?
  • Do they have any mental health issues? (Alzheimer's etc?)
  • If it's a home for the elderly - how has aging affected their ability to take care of themselves?
  • Does the home offer recreational activities (praise groups, art, movie nights, exercise groups?)
  • Do they get a lot of visitors, do they have friends in the home, or are their daily interactions with staff only?
  • Are they able to stand on their own? (this would affect equipment used)
  • Do they have contractures etc?
  • Do they still have finer motor skills and are able to grasp silverware/cutlery properly?

These are just a few things you can think about while building the profile! :D There's still sooo much more, but I think this should set you off in the right direction~

Thanks very much for the guidelines appreciate for taking your time to post that!

No worries!! Feel free to ask more questions if needed! :D
