A&P Mnemonics!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Does anyone have any really good mnemonics to help remember ANYTHING in A&P classes? The workload is incredible and I cant think of any really GOOD ones! Thanks!

Oh, I almost forgot. Here is my contribution, the only one I know:

Cellular Reproduction stages: I Passed My Anatomy Test stands for Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Telephase in that order.

OMG that is great . I'll remember that one. My first test is in 2 weeks and I'm sure this material will be on it!!

The wrist, or carpal bones going from bottom left to right:

Scaphoid, Lunate, Triquetrum, Pisiform

then top left to right:

Trapezium, Trapezoid, Capitate, Hamate

Mnemonics: "Some Lovers Try Positions That They Can't Handle." Our teacher gave us that one lol.

Before school started, I came up with this one for the organ systems: In School - Nursing. My Ever-Crazy Learning Really Doesn't Utilize Rest. (Integumentary, Skeletal, Nervous, Muscular, Endocrine, Cardiovascular, Lymphatic, Respiratory, Digestive, Urinary, Reproduction). I didn't know the systems, but I created that sentence the first time I saw a list, and have been able to name them all perfectly ever since.

My teacher then taught us MURDERS LINC for the organ systems, but I'm kinda partial to mine.

I know I came up with some others, but since I can't think of them right now, I'm guessing they weren't all that effective!

Specializes in Maternity.

This one might not make any sense to anyone but it sure helped me keep the 2 words Exocrine and Endocrine glands separate! Just remember, endocrine glands are hormone producers END-NO ducts! (get it? "and no" ducts?...because they are the ductless glands?) stupid I know! But hey, this is the type of stupid stuff you have to come up with to remember the amount of information in that class! :chuckle:heartbeat

Good luck with your Anatomy class!!

Here's something i know...well i think it's kinda absurd, but oh well here it is the 12 Cranial nerves........:specs:
