A&P 1 Fall 2013

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Tomorrow is the first day of school and I am taking A&P 1 this semester. I was all excited and ready to go before but now I am flooded with anxiety. I have already tried to prepare myself by reading ahead but I also want to start a support thread for those taking this class as well or hear from others who have already taken the class (that always helps).

Wishing everyone much success this semester!

So far so good for me. 96 & 82 on tests so far. First practical is in 2 weeks!

Nice!

I got 100, 83, and 92 on my quizzes. The 83 was due to confusion or else I would have gotten 100 :(

My average right now is an 89 :(

As far as lecture goes I'm doing pretty good. 100's on all homework, 100 on first quiz & 88 on first test. Quiz 2 is coming up next week. Pretty sure I will make an A on that also.

For lab I'm doing good too. 100's on all cadaver exercises. First practical in 3 weeks.

Are you guys' lecture & lab two separate classes or are they together? (like if you make an A in one and B in the other they average the grades together)

So far I am doing good in A&P. On the lab quizzes, I've gotten 105, 100, and 105 (1 extra credit question on each quiz). On the lecture quizzes, I've gotten 100's on all three. Tomorrow, I have my first A&P lecture test, and before that I have a quiz in lab! :nailbiting:Study, study, study!!!!

My lecture/lab grades are counted together, 64% for the lecture, 36% for the lab.

We have 5 tests & 2 practicals which are all included in one grade. I hear horror stories of the practicals so I am trying to do well on the lecture tests in case :)

Waiting for first lecture test grade to be posted. Took it on Friday. I'm pretty confident I got an A, just not sure where in the range I fell. I have 100% average from quizzes so far in lecture, and 86% average in quizzes in lab. It's tough because it's short 5 point quizzes, so one wrong will rock you. My first lab practical is Thursday. I think ending grade in each counts 50/50 for the overall course.

How's everyone holding up? I have an A- right now. Quiz grades: 100, 95, 86; Lecture test: 90 (we took another one yesterday on the nervous system. Not sure how I did and I probably won't get it back until a WEEK from tomorrow, UGH!) Lab Practical: 92 (another one tomorrow)

The sheer volume of information is just crazy. My classmates and I are burnt out and we still have 5 weeks, 2 tests, and a final to go.

I have an A also which is awesome, but I'm over anatomy already. Can't wait for winter break. My workouts have gone bye bye and I miss the stress relief they give me. Just too much to do. My life is kids, husband, school. Fine with that just want anatomy done with already. So far we have had 4 lec test and 3 lab test. We need 1 more of each then the final. Almost there everyone. We can do this. I always think how much harder nursing school is going to be. Yikes.

I'm doing alright. She has me down as having an 86.5, but when you add in the quizzes(she hasn't yet) I have a 91. So an A-. OI! This class is definitely a butt kicker. I have my third exam next week, and then it'll be OK for a minute. We'll have our final lab practical on the 11th of December, and our final prior to that. Definitely intense!

I'm actually doing really well. I have an A. Test grades so far are 88, 94, 92, 100's on all quizzes with the exception of one-made a 90. I have another test next week then the final.

As far as lab goes I've made 100's on all cadaver labs and we've only had one practical, made a 92. Our last one is Dec. 2. Ready to get it over with!

This class has definitely been a large load, but as for learning the material it hasn't been THAT bad for me. Good luck everyone!

Have an A- with 2 more lecture tests and one last lab practical to go. Almost there!!!

I currently have a C- in my anatomy course. At my school you take anatomy in one semester and physiology the next semester. My professor only gives two tests the entire semester (no quizzes) and a cumulative final. It's such a disservice to students. I'm most likely going to have to retake it.

I'm totally with you! My friends have probably forgotten what my face looks like because I don't have time to have a life outside of my daughter, my husband, my job, and my studying. The thought that nursing school is going to be even harder gives me chills.
