A&P I Spring 2013

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I did not see another thread, so I thought I would start one for fellow students to chat and get support. Anyone else taking A&P I this spring?

Chelsea13 mine is the same as yours. Body regions & cavities. Basics required for life. The different body systems. Levels of organization. We are using holes anatomy and physiology 12 edition. Anyone else?

What did you guys cover before your first test? We're just covering anatomical landmarks, locational terms, cavities, regions, chemistry and biology for our first unit, first text in a week!

That was pretty much what we covered too. The test was multiple choice and short answers. It was tricky but I think I did well. I gotta wait till wednesday or thursday to see my grade. Anxious to know already.

Funny I had my psychology test today too... I spent so much time focusing on anatomy that I got a 87% on it. At least the three quizzes I had before that were 100% so hopefully it averages out well. :S

But yeah, so far, anatomy is pretty much soaking up all my time. I definitely would not have been able to keep up taking two sciences at the same time. :S

I'm using martini fundamentals of anatomy and physiology 9th ed. Seems like most of the texts are about the same though. We weren't given a lot of specifics as far as how our text would be set up, we were just told to be experts on the first three chapter by next wednesday! I'll take it. My professor is a doctor of physiology and is so awesome and as a bonus he's funny and kepps the class engaged with his antics. Thank gosh because this class is early in the am!!

Well, I got 100% on ny first test. For someone who was previously an art major I'm feeling very happy, but I studied my tush off!

You ladies can do this! :)

Congrats! That is awesome!!

Specializes in Psychiatry.

That's amazing! Congrats!

My first exam is next week, covers the first 3 chapters, which is all mostly the Chemistry stuff. Can't wait to be AWAY from this section, me and Chemistry don't mix. I'm ready to get into the rest of the fun anatomy stuff.

My class just took the first exam...but there are only 4. This one was chapters 1-4 through cell and genetics. It was a lot of info.

@x_factor, I also can't wait to be through with the chemistry portion of this. I know it's important, and obviously the human body is based on chemistry, but it's just so boring! I already know a lot of it and since chem isn't a pre req for my schools a&p course we're going at a snails pace so the professor can make sure everyone is on the same level of knowledge. But JEEZ! We were supposed to have lab today, which I was really excited about, and it got pushed so we could do more chem! Bummer!

Same here, only for.

It gets a lot harder than chemistry. I hate chemistry too, and so far, I'm seeing that was the easiest chapter. If I were you, I'd start studying your bones *now* little by little.

Ours will be on the first two chapters. We are only covering the first 10 chapters in a&p1 and the rest in #2
